not really
i live in NY
and i hav seen all sorts of dogs being walked.
in central park, they usually run off leashes.
if the pitbull isnt properly trainned and needs to be muzzled, it shouldnt be walked in nys.

i think there should be a leash law for all BIG dogs...(safety concerns)

I should think no.Because of what people portray pit bulls to be it depends on your pit bull's personality and temperament. If you are sure that your pit bull is well mannered and trained and won't bite anyone don't muzzle it.Have you heard of the government plan?It is trying to ban such aggressive breeds as the pit bull from the states.

I would not think so, unless you are afraid of them biting a passer by. You shouldn't have to muzzle any dog for a walk unless they are a biter, then you should walk them in secluded areas.

Is there an over all law on leashing your dog while in public? Does a state law over rides a county law on a dog being leash?
