Listen to your vet, he knows best. If your vet gave you medicine for your dog, you should use it.

I don't know. I had a dog once that burped after eating but, I don't know about one who burps when not eating. As long as he seems to be feeling well and is not losing weight I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep in touch with your vet and don't over medicate him. Could that be the reason he's burping? Think about it. Be careful.

I am thinking you need to go back to your vet and get your Dane checked out again. If you have already ben there for the burping, and he is currently on meds and still burping then the meds may not be working. And I would hate to improperly diagnose something on here, and your dog get sick because of it. Best of Luck To Ya' Though.

I am assuming your vet ruled out other problems when they gave you the reglan. My dog has a sensitive stomach also, and I give him yogurt with his food. I also give him a bit of wet food before bed, the vet told me this helps with not letting the stomach acid build up over night. He is more willing to eat in the morning this way.

THE ASKER SAID HER DOG IS NOT EATING, THEREFOR IT IS NOT AN ISSUE OF BURPING AFTER EATING

I have one over eater dog. He's always hungry. I give him a couple of raw carrots when he's really acting like he's starving.

If the food is good, they'll visit the bowl and re-lick the thing down.

Just be sure that you are feeding him based upon his weight. Read the package on the food. I bought new food once and didn't feed my dogs enough, I didn't read the label until they practicality tore off the label and gave it to me. They being my dogs.

Best of luck,

Its normal for dogs to burp after eating. I've never had one do it on an empty stomach though. The supplements may be causing some of the burping and rumbling.

Unless theres a medical reason why he's burping, don't give him meds for it. My bulldog burps every time she eats. It's really quite gross actually, she licks her face then comes up to you and burps in your face. But other than the fact that it's gross, it is natural. just like humans.

So funny...no, I wouldn't worry about it...perhaps it's more pleasant than the farts that come out of my dog! I think they are like humans in this way...if it's not crazy excessive I would not worry...sometimes worms give them a bit of intestinal trouble..otherwise..expect the occasional impolite eruptions.
