If he isn't a show dog that you plan to stud, get him neutered ASAP. Neutering a dog BEFORE marking becomes a strongly established habit will stop the behavior, but if you wait too long to neuter a dog and the habit becomes established, it is tougher to stop. Clean the areas he's marked with an enzyme cleaner from the pet store that is specially designed to remove any traces of odor that will lead him to re-mark the area. If he still marks after he's been neutered, try using a belly band to stop the habit: http://www.dog-breeds.net/dog_diaper_belly_band.htm
You can buy one or make your own. It will physically block him from being able to mark, by absorbing the urine, and the unexpected sensation of wetting the belly band when he intended to mark the couch should help put a stop to the marking behavior. But if you don't get him neutered, you'll probably need to continue using the belly band in the house long-term to stop marking, as it will be extremely difficult to train him not to mark his territory if he isn't neutered. You'll need to watch him & change the bands as soon as they get wet to prevent infection.

if he's not fixed get that done.
after walks leave him out to do business.
and spary furniture(or scrubing works best love the little green machine if u have kids and pets its a must) scrub it with vinergary and water 50/50 yes smells like a pickle for a bit but its better then smelling pee! the smell of it should turn him off of marking it again. and u have to catch him doing it and stop him in the middle of peeing take by scruff of neck give a little shake say outside put him out. like i've said i use this mix to in my carpet scruber its cheaper and noone is going to have an allergic reaction pet or kids. and i think it get the carpets cleaner...

EDIT ADDED.

ok if u see him looking like he might do pee on it just make a nosie and touch if close enough...i use an AAAAA-hhhh-TTTTT sound to stop my dogs and kids lol. i snap my fingers and point to where i want the dogs(not the kids) i would claim the thing he's peeing on he would not be allow on it or near it. so if ur sitting there and he comes close snap fingers touch and little push back and that might help also. ur claim the couch or what ever as urs not his so that he may not claim it with his pee...ewwwww. good luck.

There is a spray that you can buy at any pet store or Walmart pet dept. The smell should prevent him from marking in the house.
Also get him outside to the same spot each time.. he makes a mistake so he will realize he is to go outside. Keep small treat in your pocket and when he does business outside reward him immediately after.

Another tip is to keep a small spray bottle on hand of water/white vinegar mix. and use it to spritz your pompom's nose when he misbehaves. Catch him before the act!! and give him a firm NO command or eech sound. Being consistent should do the trick.

Also, tossing a set of keys or a can with pebbles in it in the direction of the dog. (( do not hit dog with object )). Noise is to distract pompom from misbehaving. Works great to deter unwanted barking.

neutering him won't help. once a dog pees or poops in the house, every time another dog comes in it will do the same thing. And the dog that did it will remember where he went and will go back there and do it again Go to the pet store and ask for accident remover. once the odor is removed where your pet or someone else's pet can't smell where a dog has been it will stop.

Get you a spray bottle and adjust it so that it will spay a long squirt. This is a long distance correction, You catch him as he is about to do it and squirt him a couple of real quick squirts and you yell 'NO', using a deep throated voice, like a grawl, tell him bad dog and put him outside or in a crate.

The water in the spray bottle is usually enough along with you sounding so very mad.

Good luck, this will work.

clean the area with an enzyme cleaner. there may still be sent on there since you cleaned it. are there other dogs? do you stop him in the middle of marking and say no and take him outside?

next time have a spray bottle ready or a squirt gun, and when you see him lift his leg, squirt him. or even a can with some pennies in it. shake it when you see him lift his leg.

As long as he can smell the urine on the furniture, he will go in the same spots he can already smell his urine on. Even if you clean it every time, dogs have a great sense of smell. Even if you have leather, leather attracts odors too. Get him neutered, consult a behaviourist, and buy new furniture.

they do make products specifically for stopping animal territorial marking indoors. I believe one of them is called "boundry", which keeps cats and dogs from being near certain areas that you don't want them at.
