Ill just be sitting there and ill think to myself, i think ill take the pup for a ride. As soon as i think that she gets all excited and runs for the door. Can your dog read your mind? How does she always know what we are going to do even if we show no sings that we are going to do anything.

My Cavalier King Charles kicks her back legs up on the grass whenever she has been to the toilet. It is almost as though she is saying 'that is that over and done with'. She also has a daily fight with herself in the mirror, she has yet to realize it is just herself! Finally, she watches tv with great interest, especially if there are animals of any kind on the screen.

i am talking to a breeder now who expects a litter of english bulldogs by May, and would be giving them away at 2 months old so that would be by July, by then my frenchie will be 8 months old. Does anyone have experience on how frenchies get along with puppies? does gender matter?

I have an 8-month old cocker spaniel mix. We recently moved to a new home. Since we are not the homeowners, we have to tie him up so he is only limited to the kitchen area and away from the carpeted rooms. His leash has a clearance of about 8-feet, so he can roam around just fine.

Whenever we are sitting in the dining table watching TV, he keeps crying constantly until we pay attention to him. This has gone non-stop for the past month. We have tried ignoring him whenever he does this, but it has been a month. He still has not given up this behavior.

He also stopped eating his food and will only eat it if we hand feed it to him. I've tried mixing his IAMs Smart Puppy food with some beef sauce, but without any luck.

Any tips?

I have a 2 year old blue merle collie who is currently in the beginners class in training. He's doing really well (except he hates all of the other dogs there and constantly tries to chew their heads off).
One of my "issues" is something that hasn't been covered in class yet - when I take him out for his run he loves to chase balls or frisbies. He gets them and brings them back beautifully, but won't let me take it off him - he would rather play tug of war with it. Trouble is this usually involves grabbing my fingers in the process. I have asked one of the trainers in class and he recommended grabbing his collar and blowing in his ear (the dog, not the trainer) to get his attention off the toy. I'm not convinved this will work because I've tried all sorts of tricks and he wises up to them very quickly (taking biscuits, other toys etc etc). Does anyone have any fool proof methods for getting the little sod to give up the toy?

which she never does. Also, she only ate 2/3 of her food this morning. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow. She's been scratching her right ear more than usual, but I don't think that's connected. It's not hot, it's actually pretty cold, too.. Other than that, she's her normal self. She's also spayed, and 2 years old. Anybody have any experience with this?

a few days ago i asked a question on whether i did the right thing about calling the cops to come get a stray dog i found. on saturday, i figured out who the owners were. they happen to be a good friend of my mother's. there has to be something wrong at the dog's home cuz everyday he runs away from his home. he always ends up at our house. we always take him back. i am thinking that these people treat their dog terribly. what should i do about this. everytime they come to get him. they start swearing at him and yelling at him. i cant for the life of me figure out y they r punishing the dog for their mistakes. obviously this dog has never been trained right. do u have any tips on i can use to help these people gain the trust and control of their dog again, cuz i would hate to see him get hit by a car and die cuz they dont contain him.

I have a puppy that has contracted mange. The person we inherited him from said that we can't get the disease but then some said that we could. I'm a first time dog owner and I'm trying to be very cautious.

My neighbor is an older lady with a dog and she lets him run loose. My husband left his muddy and cow-crap covered boots outside our front door on our deck and the dog took them and chewed them all to hell. The boots were leather work boots that he has to have for work and cost 130 dollars and is the only pair he has, and the neighbor sent her 10 year old grand daughter over with them to return them to us, all chewed up and unuseable, with no apology or anything. What is the proper thing for me to do here? I'm not going to yell at her grand daughter, but I can't tolerate them letting their dog run loose when he is going to destroy our things. This is the dog's second offense so far and my husband says if she doesn't pin the dog up, he's going to shoot it (which I won't let him do-) we have a leash law in this town of 100 people, but no one to enforce it. Should I go confront her, or should I just chalk it up to experience and let it be?

Im just wondering if dogs can remember songs? One of my sister's has a couple dogs, one of which (a six-month old great pieranese), gets very excited and jumps around when I play a song called "Alice", by The Sisters Of Mercy; it's almost as if he likes that song and is dancing to it. What do you think?

I have a 10yo dog with heart disease & breathing problems. Around 2hours ago he started shaking excessively for 1 hour. I tried everything but couldn't stop him shaking. He seems confused & is also avoiding human attention & sleeping LOADS. Hes been drinking & urinating a lot too. He fainted twice on friday & was rushed to emergency vet who changed medication to corvental 2x day. Hes curently taking enalapril, fureousimide & corventol. I nearly rang the vet but the shivering shaking stopped & then it started again for a few mins & stopped again. This is a lap dog & he loves affection 24/7 & does NOT avoid shake & for the record he wasn't cold. His nose was warm & dry. He's laying next to me now & I need advice. What could this be? Hes been drinking more today. Please help. Thanks

I have an English Bulldog and I ran into someone in the dog park yesterday with a "miniature bulldog" puppy that they just got from a breeder in Florida. I've heard about these, but it seems like a scam to me. What does everyone else know/think?
