He has four vets, accupuncture, massages, hydrotherapy, vitamins and other supplements. Pretty much the best care that he can get. I wanted to know what else could I do? He has come with me everywher since he was a puppy. He has a bike trailer,a wagon and a trailer for my riding mower. He goes to the beach twice a week, goes walking twice a day. I just wanted to know what else could be done.

Do u think its appropriate 2 ask a question about ur dog and have abuse hurled at u about ur dog being a mutt/mongrel or be told that it has serious faults and is not good enough?

This is a general question, it has not happened to me, but i see that it has happened to many people. i was going through one users profile who just hurls abuse at people about heir dogs. it got me thinking, how would that person feel about that? is it totally necessary to "yell" at someone and tell them that their dog is a mongrel? to me it doesnt matter what ur dog is, as long as u love it!

the way i see it, Yahoo! Answers is a place for ppl 2 ask questions to which they need the answer to. ppl arent expected 2 know everything, thats why they ask, right?

this question is just a chance for ppl to vent about their concerns etc, i am not saying it effects me in any way, nor am i saying that i am offended (as i said, abuse wasnt hurled at me). i would just love to know it has effected anyone?

I need a dog that stays outside, dosen't shed, is playful, and friendly to kids. I live in an area that is usually warm to hot, with occasinol freezes. I will put a heater in the dog cage. If you answer with a good dog, then you will get 10 awesome points!

I bought (rescued) my beagle pup from a young couple in my neighbor hood who really couldn't afford her or the vet bills that go along with having a pet. She had been given to them by family member who had breed theirs but had no papers. It's obvious she's a pure breed beagle by markings, characteristics and personality, even my vet agreed. I've always been told it's best to allow a dog to breed at least once before having them spade to settle them down. There was even a conflict at the vet's over this. So, what I want to know is if I breed her with another beagle would anyone be interested in the pup's with no papers, or should I just get her spaded and be done with it. I know I bought her for $100.00, but I had too, she broke my heart. She and my cat and older dog have become the best of my friends. Anyway I'm sure if I do breed her, I'll have to ( oh God!) keep one, but I can't keep all of them! Would there be anyone who would want one with no papers?

Is there a chart or something that can tell how big a certain type of dog will get? I'm getting a puppy but don't want one that is going to get huge but a lot of places I'm looking to get it are people that rescued the dog and don't know much about it

I am a student in New York City looking to get an apartment that allows me to have a dog. Providing that I do, what would be the best dog?

It will get plenty of walks (I almost prefer a big dog that looks imtimidating so when I go out walking, people don't bother me. lol), But i prefer a quiet dog that doesn't need a lot of grooming and preferably doesn't shed. I had a wheaten terrier but she was loud and not easy to train - but I love her.

What is a friendly, smaller dog, that doesn't shed and doesn't require a lot of grooming and can deal with being alone while I'm in class?

Like I said, the dog will be able to get plenty of excercise, so as long as it doesn't bark while I'm gone, a high energy dog isn't a problem.

Thanks.

Also, the underside of her belly is nearly purple. We got this dog at the Humane Society more than a year ago, and they said that she was 3 years old (making her 4 now). She is lethargic as well. I live in Indianapolis, and it has been snowing heavily for 2 days, and there are no Vets offices open. My wife and I dearly love this dog. PLEASE HELP US!

I got her from the humane society so I am not sure what kind of 'mut' she is.Here are some pics of her... she is the tan one. she just turned 8 mo. old and weighs 67 lbs. she has a very easy going temperment, very lovable, but very independant and strong willed.

I am about to get a puppy (still not sure what type) but was wondering how you know what types of dogs will bark? I know certain types are more prone to barking (labs, beagles) but not sure just by going to a shelter how I can tell? I know every dog barks but I'm talking about more than the average dog. Thanks

My dogs right ear looks like a balloon. Its not huge or anything but it looks and feels like a small balloon. It doesnt hurt him when Touched or even squeezed. We have tried heat and antibiotics. But it does not seem to be going down or growing. Please dont advise me to take him to a vet. (I already know that) I was just wondering if anyone has seen anything simular and knows a cure. Thank you for looking.

In less than 10 hours I'm getting my long-waited SHAR-PEI puppy. He is 8 week old. What I'm concerned about is his house training. As far as I know this breed is very sensitive and I'm afraid to take him out so young so he doesn't get sick since it's winter time and I live in a flat. At first I'll try to teach him to "do his things" in the bathroom, but in less than a month how do I get him used to doing it outdoors?

She is 7 weeks old and we are crate training her she is doing awsome she has not gone in her crate at all!! yeah!!! But, my question is when will she be ready to walk around the house without using the house as a toilet I am scared to let her roam around on her own she whines when she needs to use the restroom, that is when she is in the crate she had one accident while out of the crate. I did not tell her no or punish her I just cleaned it up I was told that neggative reinforcement is not good! I praise her everytime she goes outdoors. How will she know not to go inside???

I bred my two AKC Regd. champion Labradors (chocolate male and gold female) a few months ago and Milly gave birth to 12 healthy little puppies. There are 1 chocolate male, 2 chocolate females, 1 gold male, 1 gold female, 1 black female, 3 black males, 1 silver male and 3 silver females. I read a lot about breeding and Labs before I bred them (male aged 2, female aged 3) but I never read anything about silver Labs.

Can someone give me any information on them? They are now 8 days old and I am taking them for a check up next week. They are all very healthy, cute and all are the right size.

Is this a genetic default? Do they need to be destroyed? Milly and Josh have both been tested for hip and elbow dysplasia and have been tested free of PRA so this an excellent 1st litter.

Any information on silver Lab puppies would be very much appreciated!!
