he's only a pup almost 2 months but I'm a spoiler, I'm so tempted, but I don't want to cause him complications, what's safe to feed him what's not... in general too... I found you can't feed dogs choclate... so is it the sugar no sugar? He ate some cotton candy by mistake, but seems okay... Dogs they'll eat anything... he eats the grass and someone said it's good for him, is that true? How about branches? thanks alot I love this site!

I have a year old Cardigan and am considering adopting another dog. The thing is, I read somewhere once that Cardis do not do well with other non-Cardis. Has anyone else heard of this? I'd hate to bring a dog home and my Cardi not get along with it.

This a two part question. How many people here believe in PHYSICALY correcting a dog? Why do others choose not to do it even when they know the dog needs it?
Honest and serious answers only please.

PS. I do not mean hitting a dog. I mean correcting a dog with a prong/choker or E collar.

Are dog has had 2 liters the first was about a week early and the 2nd a couple days late (Going from when the female&male connect which is hard to judge.) From observation the 2nd liter is 5weeks old and very developed (eating soft food&adult puppy food walking wanting to be held etc.) It is remarkable the change compared to the last litter I believe these are healthier and more advanced than the first litter. (We have 6 happy&healthy puppies.) :-)

My boyfriend and I already have two cats. He wants a dog too. The dog must be a black dog. We live in a pretty good sized apartment. He doesn't want an "ankle biter" and we can't take care of a large breed. Which breed of dog would be best considering these details?

I have been searching online for dog agility competitions, and I couldn't find any that I could join. They are all in cahoots with the AKC, and only AKC registered dogs can participate. Now, my dog, and his other family, was not registered with AKC, and because of that I cannot register my dog with AKC. This alone disqualifies me from entering these competitions!!! So, does anyone know of any open competitions in Long Island, or NY? I would like to do these things with my dog, but I don't even know where to start looking...please help!

Whenever our female Shar-Pei puppy needs discipline she gets spanked (relax people...shes a dog) but I've been noticing lately theres a nasty odor that lingers about her after her disciplining. Sometimes so bad we've had to put her outside just to investigate if the smell really is comming from her. I suspect that purhaps she may be urinating on herself. (which would explain her fur being damp but it doesn't explain how it gets all over, unless she's rolling around in it which hasn't been the case always because I've kept my eye on here after she gets spanked) Has any other female dog owners experienced this type of thing? This is our second female puppy but the other never had a problem like this. Does this sound familiar to anyone out there? Any feedback is much appreciated! Thanxx

I have a rotweiler that stays outside in a kennel. He has a dog house and there is cedar shavings on the ground. I've tried to bring him inside when it gets below 30, but he pants like hes hot and scratches at the door. I know these dogs come from Germany where it gets really cold. Do these dogs like the cold better. Also it gets down to about 15 at night, will he be Ok if i leave him outside.

My dog is getting old, and as much as I hate to face it, one day she will die.
I have only had one dog in my life, I was wondering what do you do if the dog dies in your home?
