Even a Greyhound can get sluggish and fat if not exercised. They have a higher metabolism than most dogs. The breed traits are to be high energy and fast. They can burn up calories faster than most other dogs with even limited activities.

They're built for speed... and they're like hoovers when they eat! The food barely touches the sides of their throat as it goes down, so probably, very little of it actually gets a chance to stick on the insides either. Anyway, they're very lanky dogs, seem to have relatively thin bones and snout... even if they do put a little weight on, they still look thin compared with other dogs.
I'm sure they can get overweight if you really force-feed them, but I can never imagine one carrying as much fat as a labrador... I heard the greyhound was originally an Egyptian dog- at least, the breed is mentioned in the bible, or that's what I heard. So, if the dog's origins are in a hot country, maybe it is wired to metabolise for hot weather... ie, it doesn't think it needs fat for insulation. ... who knows?

sorry, technicallly no
my greyhound eats like a pig (shes used to eat a kilo of meat a day) and has become fat, although she does not look it compared to other breeds of dogs.
by her weight she is overweight however when u look at her she looks like a normal greyhound apart from a bit more meat around the waist. apparantly she does not have fat around her body like a normal human or other dog but she has fat more internally around her organs.
contrary to popular belief greyhounds are very dosile animals and are often described as 'couch potatoes' our dog prefers to sleep on her mat during the day rather than go into the backyard and run around like you would expect. (however we walk her atleast 4x a week)
so yes, like any animals greyhounds can get fat.

Greyhounds are bred for racing, so they can eat large amounts of food and burn calories easily by running. Think of it like a bird, birds eat three times their body weight every day so they can have energy to fly. Greyhounds "eat like pigs" so they can have energy to run.

because they are athletic..tho i wish my grey would eat like a pig..she hasnt got a big appetite, tho she still looks thin she does need to lose a pound or 2 coz shes put on a little weight since i rehomed her, when the retire from racing over time the muscle turns to fat so they do end up a little podgy over time, they are sprinters so use energy up in short bursts
