My dog of 18 years passed away.About three days ago, she experienced her first epilepsy. She had two more, we had her on medication. She was in so much pain, crying a lot, had temporary blindnes. She woke up yesterday with a lot of pain, her crying was very loud, and she could barely move. She was suffering too much. She has been through so much that it really broke my heart watching her suffer (6 tumor operations + chemo). My family and I decided to put her to sleep. It would have been very selfish of my part to keep her alive, knowing that she was suffering in pain. I said a little prayer, gave her kisses, and she looked at me in pain, staring at me...that image will remain for the rest of my life. I left the room because I did not want to see her when the doctor put her to sleep. She was a trooper, a family member who was with us for 18 years. 18 years where the majority of the dogs do not live to that age. We really took care of her. But I know that she is in a better place...
