I currently have one male yorkie and I'd like to get him a Mrs. I'd want them to have at least one litter before having them neutered. Can you tell me if it is possible. He is 6 months old what is the best time to get the second one. Cheers

Yes it is possible to get a Mrs. for your Mr. He is still a pup and should (unless he is dog agressive) accept another dog, especially a female. There is usually only a problem with haveing two males or two females.

I would get another dog for your male, but have them spayed and neutered. Breeders take great care to breed dogs to better the breed, not for money because chances are that between care for the mom and pups ( yorkies tend to only have 2-3 pups ), vet bills for shots and wormings, and other expenses you will end up losing money. Dogs donot have to have young to fill fullfilled or make them better pets. Breeders only breed to better the breed and we are very careful to pick those dogs that represent the best of that breed. We do allot of research of pedigrees before breeding to make sure we donot pass along health and temperment problems. Even after the research there is still no guarantee that problems will not arise. Unless your planning on showing your dogs in conformation dog shows DO NOT BREED

Do you know that if you allow your male dog to breed you will have an increase in unwanted male behaviors like humping, marking, and aggression, probably for the rest of his life? He will be a much nicer pet if he is never used. Is it worth having an aggressive dog marking territory all over your house, just so he can be used once?

please don't breed even more piece-of-crap yorkies. if you insist on breeding, you need to get about $2500 in genetic testing done on both dogs to ensure that you aren't going to produce unhealthy puppies. are you ready to do that or are you just in it for the money?
