I just recently took ownership of a 2 year old dachshund from a family of 4 who had no time to care for him. He is very active and playful and shows no signs of sickness. I already have a 7 year old dachshund who is the best trained dog I have ever seen. My 7 year old alerts me when he needs to go outside, does everything immediately and comes in. Now. The two year old (My new one) ghas a problem of eating his own feces. He would probably eat it as it was coming out if he could. It is not a hard stool but a very soft stool (This is gross but it is just like a soft serve ice cream machine, sorry if I ruined soft serve for everyone). I have to go outside every day to pick up his excrements. He does not touch my other dogs feces, just his own. Also, he is VERY underweight 7lbs). I have a high calorie food for him and he has gained a couple of lbs but thats it. He is 9 lbs but you can still see his ribs. I have taken him to the vet twice (My girlfriend is a vet tech) and he is 100% healthy

Like if i had a girl chihuahua would it want me to be it's "mommy" instead of my dad. Because we have a male toy fox terrier and he is a real daddy's boy.... would it be opposite with girls. Or does it not matter?

Since she inhales it, this causes her to sometimes begin to gag since it has become stuck in her throat. I use royal cannine and I been forced to break down the kibble even smaller and add some warm water to it to soften it up. She needs to slow down and actually bite her food but I dont know how to do it.

My 2 year old Samoyed dog has had diarreah since yesterday...going a lot during the night before and daytime. I added rice to his kibble, and he went less during the night, and had just a touch of consistency. Does anyone have any good ideas to help him out. I called the vet and they said that if he has a decrease in energy, water, or eating, to bring him in, but he is the same happy boy he always is...eating well, drinking normal amounts of water, and very energetic/happy.

Any help/answers/tips/etc. would be appreciated.
Thank you :)

Of course i will leave out the hook, i figure i set it up around some post and use man power to reel in the "game"

a lure course is where a dog chases a lure, usually something fluffy, around a set course. Imagine a greyhound track that doesnt go in a circle...or 40 mph in my case

They haven't had changes in their diets; they don't have fleas or flea eggs; they haven't started any new medications; I have given them regular baths (with mild dog soap, which has never caused a problem in the past); one has mild dandruff, but it never bothered him before and besides, they are both going crazy so it can't be that; any other ideas as to why they are scratching? I have checked them over thoroughly and they don't have any scabs, tics or mites. I can't figure it out. Suggestions?

Why should we remove their male producing organs?/
How youd feel if somebody remove your testicles or ovaries..

We can cut their sperm ducts/tie their fallopian tubes if we want to sterilize them ...It may cost more...but I feel it is more proper

My puppy Baxter is just over three months old and he's a LhasaPoo. He's the runt and it was very visible when comparing him to his sisters and brothers. When I got him at 2 months he was 2.3 pounds. I think he now might be three. He has always been tiny but he's starting to grow and I wanna estimate how big he is going to end up so I was wondering how many more months till he's done growing? Does anyone have and guess's how big he might get?

Snce we bought our new rescue dog home our cat has moved himself upstairs and will only come down to go outside if the dog is locked away. We followd all of the procedures giving the cat run of house and confining dog to kitched for two weeks. The cat moved upstairs he has a litter tray and food. He is really lording it up. He is not frightened of the dog he has lived with a dog before He parades up and down the landing showing off and teasing her, she is so good sitting at the bottom of the stairs she has never attempted to go up or chase him. I want him to come back downstairs and rejoin the family. I worry he will be lonley up there on his own. Any suggestions please?
