As long as a dog is healthy it can be done up until at least the age of 8-9 years, however be advised that the health benefits of neutering as well as behavioral benefits is no longer present after the age of 6-7 years of age. The health benefits decrease as the dog ages and with females it decreases not with age but with each heat she is allowed to have. The more heats the higher the risk becomes especially of mamamry cancer and pyometria.

HI
I took my lav to the vet at 7 years and they wouldn't spay her she was over weght and he said the older they are the more they bleed and that they prefer doing younger dogs. I would have them done asap or if they are healthy my vet said up to 5 years but if some problem arises like cysts he will do them older if in good health.
