My resolution is to laugh more and hit the abuse button here on YA's.
Then I am going to laugh even more .
When the pathetic no brainer questions come up on YA's, I am going to laugh and report them under the abuse catagory *OTHER.*
Then I will type in the words: Moron League Member.
What else could it be? Let em kick me off! It will prove that you and us dog people are right! The questions must be asked by 2 yr olds. These morons are too ignorant and it makes me wonder how they get through life.
I truly believe society has come down to exisisting in the *TIME OUT* and the* CAN'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER* generations. It is partially caused by, it seems, everyone is on or knows someone who is on anti depressants because they have been told NO sometime in their lives. No one wants to cure their own ignorance. So pills mask reality and gives them the green light to play dumb in most situations.
As far as YA's being a fruitless site:
"I" learn something from the sensible questions that I cannot answer here myself. The ones that are answered by the true experienced dog people who share their experiences and heartaches. I can tell who has knowledge and who doesn't know jack sh!t.
My opinion of YA's is to learn about what I didn't already know to begin with BUT for me to also reseach what I am unsure of first before I open my mouth. Life is full of questions and answers. To be... or not to be... a moron. THAT is the question.
I don't know everything there is to know about dogs. But my dad always told me "LUCK... IS WHEN PREPARATION MEETS OPPORTUNITY. The more you learn about anything the more prepared you are when that something stands before you."
Too bad not everyone has a dad like mine. He guided us kids to stand on our own and THINK (there is a logical explanation to every action) and to prepare ourselves as to never take the easy way out (there is a repercussion for every action taken) and never to become members of the Moron League.
So as the questions flow here on YA's I will be ready to soak in the real knowledge because I know the difference between experience and bullsh!t and report the ML because I feel they are useless "bunny huggers" that are truly dumber than sh!t. They are interferring with the ones who want to know WHATor WHY dogs do what they do.
Don't go away, you have too much knowledge to share! Just laugh more, hit that abuse button, yep that's what I'm gunna do!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your Gang!

I noticed a few comments about questions and answers getting deleted.
When you post a question, did you know that it runs through a filter program first? This filter picks up a word or a series of words, and blocks the question from posting. This is similiar to how at-work internet firewalls are supposed to block some sites but they don't work too well. If you think your question was fine, you can appeal pretty easily.
Up in the top right corner of the page, under the search bar, is the word "Forum" in blue. Click on that, and then click on "wrongful violations and terminations." Read the whole letter that appears, and then follow the directions. You'll get an answer within 24 hours.
EDITED TO ADD: Look, this isn't rocket science here. You of all people should know that the only way to correctly train a dog is to use the right training aids and methods. Similiarly, the only way to correctly train people is to use the right training aids and methods. Insulting people left and right, assuming they are all morons because they don't know what you know, and complaining about how no one takes you seriously are NOT the correct training aids and methods. If you were to use such methods with your dogs, they wouldn't learn a thing. Similiarly, the people you're trying to "teach" here aren't going to learn a thing either.
EDITED AGAIN: And you know, you can always create a user group, and invite the people you want. Then you can chat away about real dog things with real dog people and post whatever threads you want.
Go here: http://groups.yahoo.com/. On the left sidebar, kind of near the top, you can either "join" or "create a group." Click to do either, and then follow the directions.

Tyke, you are correct in that some people will never change---but there ARE people who ask questions here because they honestly don't know and want to do the right thing.
For example, people asking about so-called "teacup dogs." If the average non-doggy person hears "teacup" used to describe a small dog, how are they to know it is a scam?
How is the average person to know that the reason certain colors are "rare" in a breed is because they are a disqualifying color for conformation----all they know is that they haven't seen many of that color before.
I would bet there are a few people who came to this site researching "teacup" dogs, "rare colors" or another scam and came away better educated. I would also bet they didn't keep the knowledge to themselves
{Picture the scenario as a newly-educated woman explains to her neighbor that she was scammed when she bought her $2,000 "teacup whatever."}
So I would say stay and keep answering for the people who really don't know and want to do the right thing.
Oh, and on a personal note I enjoy your answers LOL so I'm not being totally altruistic here.
Whatever you decide, have a great New Year.

Aww, c'mon Gitem, they NEED you here, even of they don't know it!
When I first came on here, there were like, *2* real dog people, there are several of us now. There are still an endless supply of idiots asking stupid questions, but I think the overall quality of answers has improved. True, still mostly idiots answering, but now there is usually more than 1-2 good answers.
Besides, you are endlessly entertaining! If you leave I probably will too, and I'll bet Torbay wouldn't be around very long either.
Take the night off, have a few tasty cocktails!
Look at all theses warm and fuzzy posts for you!!!
Torbay - someone could certainly start a yahoo group for a few of us, I would but have no idea how to do such a thing.
Torbay - " I am TOTALLY in the computer Moron League.....but at least I don't ask stupid questions about it"
Bet your not attempting to answer OTHER computer illiterates questions about it either, unlike most the people here, where everyone is an *expert*!

I hope you do not decide to keep this resolution. I do believe some of your knowledge does get through and it may be a fruitless site but you keep it interesting. I agree with MJ the answers are getting better. It seems more people are telling the ML the truth instead of babying them with answers so people do listen it just takes time and persistence. When I first started on this site I always got and still do get a laugh by the way you tell the ML like it is.
I look forward to more of your great answers but if you decide to stay away I will really miss your unique way of telling it like it is.
Live life, have a great time at it and have a great new year!!!!!

You probably don't get to hear "success stories" too often, as it's difficult for people to admit when they're wrong. But, if it will assist your decision at all, I'll give you one.
Awhile back, you answered the first question I posted in this forum, in which I asked for advice regarding the removal of my Basset Hound's surgery dressing.
Your answer stood out from the rest of them, as you were the only one to tell me, quite bluntly, to "ignore the big baby and just do it."
Being used to more sympathetic, gently-worded, "give him wots of wuv afterwards"-type answers, I read a few of your other recent answers, and realized it was simply your style. After reading yet a few more, I realized that... lo and behold, you REALLY knew what you were talking about. And your disposition, which your opposition finds to be a bit over-the-top, is nothing more than pure passion for what you've devoted your life to shining through. I get the same way about my "causes," as well.
To be honest, I've learned a lot from your answers, and I check for new ones the majority of the time I log on. I've gained quite a bit of respect for "reputable breeders" and what they're trying to accomplish. And in turn, my dogs have gained quite a bit more respect for me, because I've finally learned how to assert some dominance over them. (It's no excuse, but I come from a very long line of "furbaby" owners.)
So, in conclusion, it will be a lot less interesting around here if you leave, and I sincerely hope you don't, although I'm starting to see why you feel your efforts are futile. I just thought it might be nice to hear a "success story," and hope that you realize you've probably had more of an impact on this community than you think... it's a shame people don't speak up more often.

Are you crazy? Look Tyke, all of us here realize that some people you just cannot reach, that will remain a fact. But, you have too much experience, spent too many years doing this for you not to share it, even eith the few people who want to listen and learn. I was just reading a book on Zen and it said that "people will fight really hard to defend their hell" they do not want to get out of it because in it, they feel safe an complacent. Well, that is good for them, but not for me, and otheres like me who are still interested in learning. Yes, I have been doing this for a long time, but from the sound of it, not as long as you have. So, just come on and answer a serious question about serious training. And if you want to have some fun with the rest, well that is good too. You wil not educate anyone who is not interested. Stay with us, we still need a voice of reason here.

Yeah, there are just so many morons. I completely agree. But that shouldn't discourage you from this site. You're about the 500th smart person who has given up on Yahoo because of all the idiots out there who can really bring you down. I have heard my fair share of jerkoffs who give the stupidest and rudest comments. That doesn't discourage me, though. And it shouldn't discourage you. True, those morons out there do give false and ultimately stupid information. I just hope that those morons don't actually propel you to leave the site, that will show that they really do have a great effect on everyone. If you let them take over and drive all the smart and sensible people off the site, who will be left? You can't let them take over and force you to leave the site, just don't listen to those dumba**es.

Happy New Year Tyke.
Please don't leave us. We who have some clue about how to go about life need to stay and send out our little voice of reason.
Of course no one will miss you if you never log on again. It's a big world here on yahoo. But don't you think that you will be replaced by one of the morons?
Anyway...I enjoyed your rant. Thanks

Yeah....if you go I am going. there won't be any fun anymore. The ML can think of their own puppy names and tell each other ALL ABOUT breeding....since they know SOOO much!!!
And when ALL the smart people leave.....a lot more pets will die because there will be no one saying TAKE IT TO THE VET ASSHO*E!!!!!
I wish there was a place where the SMART LEAGUE could meet and chat and discuss REAL dog things!!!!!!
Well, someone with computer knowledge SHOULD start a place for the DOG LEAGUE to chat!!!!! That would not be me either. I am TOTALLY in the computer Moron League.....but at least I don't ask stupid questions about it!!!!!!
