Of course i will leave out the hook, i figure i set it up around some post and use man power to reel in the "game"

a lure course is where a dog chases a lure, usually something fluffy, around a set course. Imagine a greyhound track that doesnt go in a circle...or 40 mph in my case

No, there's no way on earth you could move it fast enough to keep it ahead of any sight hound. You need a mechanical lure.

I do that with my Sighthound puppies, of course, it certainly wouldn't be fast enough for an adult.

I don't reel it because it is pretty hard to do it fast enough. I use a long bamboo pole with a long string tied to it, and a lure of some type on the end. You can run it around you in circles and flick it up in the air. I make sure to let them get it some, and always quit when they are still wanting more.

As a fishermen, I wouldnt suggest that since it may damage the rod and other equipment. Yet creativity does have its ways and it seems really fun and something that will show great results. You should do it all the ways since I wasnt allowed to do that things when I was young but I suggest that now is a new age so definently try it.

We use that method to train Hunting dogs, when they are pups. By tying a phesant wing to the line, we can cast it out and slowly retrieve it, giving the pup a scent to follow.
