I purchased a pomeranian from a pet store for $900. The puppy did not have any papers from AKC. The store owner says because I will receive papers from the North American Kennel Club. The puppy is cute but for $900 I would like to know is the puppy is a pure breed or a thoroughbred.

I have 2 puppies that were used to free feed at the breeder but recently as one of them will eat anything in sight and is getting very fat, I decided to feed them 2 times a day. The fat one has no problem with this but the lean one seems to only eat when he wants to eat, do I just let him misses out a few meals until he gets the message? He is also very picky with what he will eat.

Our one year old chihauhau mix has a cold. She is not coughing, but has a lot of muccus and periodically will breathe in and out with difficulty like she is trying to clear her throat (hard to describe) especially in the evenings. Her energy is very good and she doesn't appear sick otherwise.

We have put the litter box where they can't reach it, but they dig it up outside. I clean up as much as possible outside, but they still find it. They are well fed, so being hungry isn't the issue. Someone on here suggested putting meat tenderizer in the food, which I have tried (in the cat food), but they are still doing this. Help!!

Do we ban all guns because people use them to rob and kill? do we ban gas, matches or lighters because they can be used to set illeagl fires? It makes no more sence to ban breeds of dogs because someone uses them for illeagl purposes or breaks the law by letting them run lose.

Someone else was asking if their dog was the only one with a certain name, so I'm kind of asking the same question. We have 3 dogs and 2 of them have VERY uncommon names. So, now I'm curious to see if anyone else has them or ever heard them before. They are:

Fieldy - Golden Retreiver (named after one of the band members from the band Korn. Registered name is, Mr. Korn Fieldy)

Froopy - Golden/basset mix (named from combining his mom and dads name together (Droopy and Fieldy))

Ever heard those names before?

I have a large dog and a small dog. Until last month I fed Pro Plan, and was pretty happy with it, but it is very expensive. Don't get me wrong, I want a high quality dog food, but I would like to save a little bit of money if possible. I switched to Science Diet and have been very unhappy with it. My larger dog has gained weight on the same amount of food, and the chunks are too big for my small dog. I also think that they are pooping more and their coats ar not as nice. A friend suggested Nutro and I know there are three different types of Nutro. I am considering trying Nutro Max, but would love some input. Please only reply if you have some actual knowledge or personal experience. Thanks so much!

I am looking for suggestions for a breed of dog for my parents. They already have a lab/chow mix and want a smaller dog as a playmate. They really like my miniature dachshund because she is really tough but don't like how much she barks. They have a large backyard and the dogs will be in the house a lot too.
