I think you should consider getting a poddle mix then. Although Poodles aren't the greatest dogs in my opinion, they don't shed like other dogs do and are good for people with allergies. The Labradoodles are very popular and as far as I know are great dogs. Just be careful what kind of dog the poodle is mixed with because they can have a real nasty temperment. You should also take into account how much room you have for exercising the dog and the size of your home if it's to be an inside dog. I have a Maltipoo, a Poodle-Maltese mix and she's absolutely adorable, but very small. Good luck!

There is no such thing as a "totally" non-shedding dog. All dogs shed at least a little hair at one time or another, as do humans. There are however dogs that shed little to no hair. This is a list of breeds that shed little to no hair.

OK bud I just went through this with my wife. She wanted a dog, and I am allergic, plus I have asthma.
Here is what you can get and why. Basically you can get any breed that has hair, not fur. That is dogs that need hair cuts, such as Poodles, Wire hair Terriers there are few and I am sure I would miss one or two if I tried. If you want a large dog again I am sure I will miss a few but a Standard or Giant Schnauzer, An Irish Wolf Hound, A Portuguese Water Dog. Once you start looking at the breed and seeing the coats your will understand.
You need to stay away from anything with and oily coat and dander that is what bothers us. Dogs such as Labs , Golden Retrieves which are the worst, jack Russel's, Dobermans, Dachens,.
Now Shepperd are strong now, because I can tolerate a German Sherpard, and my friend 's Border Collier does not both me either. But the shed like anything and would not suggest it.
I have owned a Poodle for 18 yrs. She died about 3 yrs ago.
I just got a Mini Schnauzer last week and he won't leave my site when I am home not a problem at all.

No dogs can be considered affordable, as all dogs require care and that means money! You have to be prepared to spend money on food, veterinary care, supplies, medical emergencies, and so much more.
Any dog can be friendly, but some are a lot more friendly than others, of course.

And NO DOG is hypoallergenic, no matter what anyone tells you, ESPECIALLY the breeders of designer mutts.
All dogs shed, all dogs have dander, but there are breeds that are ideal for allergy-sufferers.
How about a Poodle, Schnauzer, Cocker Spaniel, Chinese Crested, Papillon, Lhasa Apso, English Toy Spaniel, Tibetan Spaniel, or a Golden Retriever if you are a very active person.

And Always check out your local shelter first!!

I would recommend a poodle or a Bichon Frise. Neither shed like other dogs, and both are friendly, intelligent and loving.

pitbull yellow lab mix, the pit is a very loyal and smart dog as is the lab end of it. mix means affordable, and short wire hair is less likely to shed than other purebred dogs, but there is no replacement for good care of animal. (feeding, washing, vet visits, etc.) another aspect is space, your schedule, and time for animal. is it going to be around kids, or other animals.? the pit/lab mix is also another good choice for that reason. hope this was helpful.

Wire Hair Fox Terriers- They shed a bit, but not too much. They are really cute and energetic and fun. The longer their hair, the fluffier they are, or you can keep it short and smooth.
