Is the North American kennel club a worthy kennel club.?

I purchased a pomeranian from a pet store for $900. The puppy did not have any papers from AKC. The store owner says because I will receive papers from the North American Kennel Club. The puppy is cute but for $900 I would like to know is the puppy is a pure breed or a thoroughbred.

whoa! it is not ok to buy a puppy from a pet store, have you read anything about where pet stores get their dogs and how they treat them? well, you definitely didnt do any research! in my opinion,(suggestion ONLY): return your pup if you can,and adopt another pup from a reputable hobby breeder. if you buy from the breeder, most of them register from akc, and they will give you the papers when you get the puppy, not mail it to you in a couple of days.

The first wrong thing you did was buy from a pet store. Second thing you did wrong was not to see the papers of the dogs. The mother the father. More in likely the puppy was from a puppy mill most puppies from pet stores are. You over paid for your dog. Just lesson learn. Lucky the dog found someone to take care of it. You paid 900.00 for a dog that wasn't worth anything but that was your fault not the dogs. Just give the puppy a good home. At least you are giving the puppy a chance to live a normal life. Some puppies don't even get that chance. Rule to everyone buying a puppy. Check out the paper of both mother and father, ask to see both parents. If they say no then don't buy. Do not buy the puppy unless the litter papers are in you hands don't trust them to send you the papers. AKC give litter papers back to owners in plenty of time. Ask to see where the puppy was staying. Go in and check the place out. There is no reason why they should stop you from doing that. Watch how the puppies acts towards the owner. Never Never buy from a pet store.

There is no North American Kennel Club.
Go back to the pet store and ask for the address of the North American Kennel Club, if they hesitate, chances are the puppy came from a puppy mill and no where near a pure bred dog.
Ask to speak with the owner/manager and demand the history of the pup.

I agree with whoever said to demand an address for the North American Kennel Club. Bring the dog back, get your money back then turn them into the BBB.

There is a club called North Country Kennel Club located in Upstate New York, but they do not register dog nor are they a registry.

A dog is purebred NOT thoroughbred...Thoroughbred is a breed of horse.It is the breed of horse that races in the Kentucky Derby, Breeders Cup..

The North American Kennel Club is just another scam club. It is another one that has been set up by BYb & mills or others who are suspended from doing business with a legit registry like AKC/UKC.
It is never a good idea to buy puppies from a pet store. These dogs do NOT come from responsible breeders. They are products of irresponsible breeders & mills.

Other Scam registries:
CKC (Continental Kennel Club, Canine Kennel Club), ACA (American Canine Association) NKC (National Kennel Club), World Wide,...there are many others that are much less known..unless it is NAVHDA, AKC, UKC, CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) here in the US then it is not a legit registry.

I have never heard of the North American Kennel Club, and could not find any info online. Did you not get the papers with your puppy? If so, you may never get them (especially since you purchased from a pet store). I have heard of petstores in my area selling puppies that are "registered" but the people have never received the papers. If it came from a petsore, it may not even be a purebred.

No, it is one more sham registry to add to the long list that support puppy mills. AKC is the best & most legitimate. I wish you would have done more research before you purchased.

Next time, go to www.akc.org & find the breed's club closest chapter. Buy from a member there - these are the reputable breeders actively involved in improving a breed (they show to prove their dogs are good representatives of the breed, and do genetic testing to help eliminate health problems), that breed healthy companions for life.

Never expect a purebred from a pet store. You probably will never know where the dog came from because the puppy has been handed down from various places to get to the store. If you didn't get papers from the AKC, then you probably didnt get a purebred dog.

I have an NKC beagle she is also United Kennel Club Both are very good and we have pedigrees that goes back decades
However I don't recomend buying in pet stores seeing the parents and or their pegigree before buying is the way to go.

Continental Kennel Club = A scam registry used by backyard breeders and puppy mills to make their puppies sound special and important. American Kennel Club = Legitimate registry used by legitimate breeders who produce actual purebreds as verified by a legitimate pedigree. And there's nothing wrong with mutts, just with people who intentionally produce them in order to make money. **Added** Yes, a dog could be theoretically registered in both but there's no point. The only reason to get a CKC registry is if the dog isn't AKC eligible. In order to be registered in the AKC the dog must have been born from AKC-registered parents, and so on back until the beginning of the line or the line's admission into the registry. In order to get registered with the CKC you have to send a picture of the dog saying "This is a Chihuahua/Greyhound/Giraffe" with some witness signatures - it means nothing!
