I live in the 4 Corners Area --- NM, CO, AZ,Utah, in the US and my hubby brought home a hitchhiker. He found this guy 10 miles from anywhere. The dog is a well behaved nutered male Golden Retriever with no tags. I've done all I know to do.....placed an ad in the local paper, and contacted animal shelters in 3 states. You can tell from this poor fellows feet he had traveled a good ways and that he at one time had a collar. The problem in this area is we are so remote and have lots of tourist and people lose dogs traveling through from all over the US... I see them in the paper.

Please don't suggest I keep him. I have 5 dogs plus lots of other animals to care for. Any ideas would be helpful. This guy is so sweet I know someone is looking for him.

I'm worried that my yellow lab isn't getting tired of me kicking the ball around and him fetching it and bringing it back. I usually throw the frisbee once in a awhile. I'm just looking for a new, unique play-time activity to do with my dog (lab). Any suggestions?

I have two Jack Russell Terriers and they have been itching and scratching constantly. They are both Heart worm and flea and tick medication monthly from the vet. There is no sign of hot spots. It has been very cold where we live and this seems to make it worse. Is there some food or supplement I can administer to help them with the itching?

I need to keep my beagle outside in a dog pin during the day, and I want to know if it's ok to put hay down on the ground for him. The ground where I live is orange clay and it gets everywhere, and I do not want him to get very dirty out there because he comes in at night. Any suggestions?

I have a shih-zhu/pomeranian mix and he just will not stop jumping on me and trying to bite me every time I move. He's always in my face! I give him PLENTY of attention, and he just wants more, more, more. He just won't leave anyone alone and it's really embarassing when I have company over. If someone tries to push him away, he thinks they are playing. How can I make him just calm down? The people at the place I bought him from said that he would be a calm dog, but he's not.

My dog decided it was a good idea to pee on the matress on the bed last night. It doesn't smell but obviously this will have soaked into the matress. Is there anything I can do to clean it as I'm not to chuffed on the idea of buying a new one. Thanks for your help

It doesn't matter if I buy a new one, the family dog will pee on it eventually. I was hoping there was some sort of repellent that was safe for the dog and the rug

What cute phrases are there to teach my parrot to say? Also, my male Chow-chow is only interested in the one female chow-chow? The one had puppies recently, but the other one is going on 2years now, and still no puppies. He doesn't even look at her. What could I do?

She has been raised with goats and is now 6 months old. She is picking on the younger, less aggressive goats. nipping their back legs and tearing on their ears. I haven't caught her in action. Other from that, she is an excellent dog.

My wifes dog (cocker spaniel) is afraid of me. We have 3 dogs and I admit I am stern with all of them, but the other two are excellent with it. her dog won't listen to me, pees when I get close, and nips at me and has even attacked my hand before. He just hit a year old when this started to happen. I can't stop being stern, because I am afraid my other dogs will try to take over (they are both breeds that require an alpha or they see themselves as such). Also, the cocker gets aggressive when all the dogs play together and has drawn blood from one of the others (he is fine, just a little nip) and it concerns me. My wife and I are trying to have a baby as well, and I am very concerned about her dog and a new baby. She 'babies' her dog and I am afraid of jealousy issues.

I grew up around dogs, and have dealt with a biting dog. We had to get rid of him, just wouldn't stop no matter what we tried. (we gave him to my aunt, and even to his last days he tried to bite me)
Any answers?

I have a six month old Rottie puppy. He is extremley healthy etc.
He has been scratching one ear which has now become red and inflammed (inside). Not deep inside the ear. I have looked into ear mites and do not think that this is the cause.

After applying an ear lotion for Debris / Mites and a cream for mild skin irritations he nol onger scratches at it, and it doesn't seem to bother him, although the area is still inflammed.

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused it?

Prehaps he'd brushed against a plant that had irritated him etc!

Thanks in advance!
