We tie my one year old dog on the back yard when the weather is nice, but he always finds a way to get loose, either he breaks the collar, or the just opens the leash clip thing. Any advice?

He acts "crazy" with everyone else except me. By crazy I mean he barks and jumps at all passing cars and motorcycles and if let out of the yard he chases them almost getting killed regularly. Also when out of the yard he fights (sometimes bloody and serious against bigger or even groups of dogs) with any dog(s) that invades "his turf" (which is about half of the block we live on). He fights against walking outside of the yard on a leash and absolutely refuses (he lies on his back squealing while I pull his chocker leash)to leave his turf. With me he is very friendly and jumps up in the air to greet me waiting for me to put out my hands to support his 2 front legs. When in that position sometimes he puts my hand in his mouth but never bites at it. He's my first dog and he shows me so much affection, is a great watchdog, obeys most of my commands and will always let me hold him or restrain him if I choose to. Any of you specialists have any thoughts? Thank you.

My 5 month old puppy, (Mini Schnauzer-Terrier mix,) is bored at home! He has lots of toys: soft squeaky toys, nylabones, edible nylabones, a rope, cow hooves.. But he still seems bored. We try to play fetch with him but he gets bored with that really easily and just lies down on the couch or at our feet. We pet him all the time and cuddle, take him out several times a day and run around outside. He stays in his crate during the day while we are at work but we come home during lunch to take him out and play with him. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated! I don't know what else we can do!

I recently adopted a 9mth old toy poodle. The previous owners said she was potty trained to go to the door and house broken not to chew up things. He lied. All she wants is to sit on the sofa next to me and sleeps all day.If I don't let her she potties somewhere. When I try to get her to go outside to potty , she won't ,and as soon as I let her in she potties on the carpet. If I don't let her on my bed she leaves me a present. If leave her alone she leaves me present and chews up something. I feel like she does it for spite. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

She is a puggle, she gets walked in the morning and evening and she is very relaibly house broken. I just don't know if its wrong for her to stay inside all day while I work. I can't hire a dog walker and I can't afford doggy daycare. My boyfriend can sometimes take her out but, not every day.

Or she shakes her long ish ears to wake us up at night. Yeah, after 3 kids we don't sleep very soundly. Lately she has been shaking her ears in the middle of the night and wants to go out. How do we break her of this habit? If we ignore her, will she pee in the house? We take her water away around 9, let her out around 11, she goes to doggie day care 2 or 3 days a week, she is healthy. Any suggestions please? No she can't stay out all night and the kids are not home any more to let her out either. She cries all night if put in her crate- every night. Help?

We've treated her once and are now on our second round of treatment. What precautions do I need to take? She is an inside dog and when she uses the bathroom I make sure to wipe her and her paws down with dog wipes to ensure no feces were left on her. She uses a seperate are to go to the bathroom. My thing is I am worried to let her run around like a normal pup or even play with my other dog for fear of him catching it or it spreading to us. My other dog sleeps on my bed and I feel bad for the pup cause she is not allowed. Is it bad to have a pup with Giardia on your bed or around your room or even in your house? I keep a close eye on her so she doesnt use the bathroom in the house, but is there anything I can do to ensure its not spread or am I overreacting.

I'm getting so sick of this. I love animals and yes, I do think it's horrible that there are so many unwanted dogs and cats. However, I want to show in AKC and you need a purebred dog. I would love to get into RESPONSIBLE dog breeding and would start off with one dog and do tons of research and speak with lots of good breeders and attend many shows before even considering breeding. I do love mixed breed dogs. They are great for someone who just wants a companion and isn't interested in showing! And there is nothing wrong with buying a purebred dog as long as you get it from a reputable, caring breeder! Most of these people who lecture are dog breeders and they should remember, that they were beginners once too! I have the time, love, patience, space, and dedication to become a good breeder. Why get down on me? If I ever won the lottery, the first thing I would do would be to open a shelter for unwanted animals. Please be more considerate!

My puppy is three months old. She was doing well with potty training, but lately she will run in her crate and pee. I keep a close eye on her and take her out when needed to use the restroom, but when we come in and play not even for five minutes she will run into her crate and pee. I make sure she is completly finished when going outside and ready to come in. Why is she doing this? Especially if I take her outside when needed.

My new puppy is not only BEAUTIFUL but he is a GENIUS! He is only 8 weeks old and is already crate trained and house broken! I have only had him for 2 days! Sorry - I had to brag I am a proud mama! But seriously - he should be on T.V.!!! (he's a miniature goldendoodle).

Anyway I have always loved dogs and would love to learn more about training - not just obedience training - but also training to do tricks etc - like animals used on television....

Thanks.
