I know he's been detected with heart murmur every year we take him to the vet for his shots, jut not sure if it has to do with that.
He's been coughing every day quiet a few times 3 to 4x and 2 to 3x at night also for the past 2 weeks and today he's started breathing heavy even slightly moving his body back and forth every time he breaths, the he oes back to sleep. He usually gets excited when we come home, except for today and now we worry he might have serious health issues if we take him to the vet.
Have your pet(s) been thru this?
Please help!

ok, well, hes MY new puppy. he's 5 1/2 months old. another lady owned him before me. he hasn't been neautered yet, but i'm making the appointment tomorrow. we didnt bring him home til about 7 oclock tonight. and its 11:30 right now. but since getting him home, hes been out side 3 or 4 times. and everytime he uses the bathroom outside, he gets praised (good boy good boy) and he gets a small little treat. anyway, i JUST now noticed there was a pee spot on my rug. no biggie, its expected. i cleaned it up real good and i'm going to wash the rug tomorrow. am i doing anything wrong? i just want him to get the hint (NO PEEING in the house) of course i didnt scold him for the pee spot, because i dont know when he did it. but is there anything else besides what i'm doing and getting him neutered, that can teach him not to go in the house? any other good tips that might be useful?

My 7 year old terrier has recently had blood work done which indicates the possible existance of Cushing's disease.

He had elevated ALP of 146 last year and this year it is 176.
His thyroid is low at 0.49.

The vet thinks he might be pre-cushings, hence the only slightly elevated alp levels.

He shows no other symptoms of the disease, no excessive drinking or eating, no incontinence or frequent urination. He is active and playful and has no intolerance to heat.

My question is how might the presence of cushing's disease effect his life expectancy?

she is tall and leggy, small frame. I've always been told that most pugs are overweight but she seems so tiny, she gets regular checkups, shots, heartguard etc and I have her on a high quality food she eats about 2 cups a day.

She LOVES them. She steals them from the guinea pigs. Is it ok if I give them to her as a small treat?

We have a 13 week old Pug that rocks back and forth on his butt and yelps lightly like he's in a bit of pain. We've had his anal glands expressed, twice and de-wormed. The vet is stumped, too. He want's to send him to a specialist (pug specialist?).

Has anyone seen anything similar to this?

There's a dog that's been hanging out around my house for the past few nights. He has a collar, and I think maybe tags. He looks healthy...dirty, but not starved. It's getting cold where I live, and animal control is giving me the run around.

I'm hoping that if I can get close enough to see his tags, then I can hopefully get in touch with his owner and get him back where he belongs before another winter storm hits. He's a bigger dog, though, like a golden retriever. I'd rather not just stroll up to him and grab his collar.

What are tips for how to approach a strange dog in the safest way possible? What are warning signs (body language) that I should watch for to let me know to back off? Besides growling and snarling, of course.

The other day I ran into a dog and became really interested in knowing what breed it was. It could have been a mix...

It had the build of a lab, maybe... it had long hair. It had a gray coat that faded down into brown, and he had bright blue eyes. That's really all I can remember...

I just got home from work and found that my dog, a 5 year old English Setter female, went through the bathroom trash. The one thing that was put in there that I DIDN"T see as I put the trash back was my Nuvaring that was *ahem* used. I can only assume that she ate it.

The question: the ring is made of a circle of plasticy material filled with birth control chemicals (although now mostly used..) Do I have to worry about it, or will she just pass it ?

I would really appreciate some real advice here.... Don't just say call your vet... because I know that... I would like to not wake the man up at 11:30 pm. So, some vets that ARE awake out there would be appreciated !!
