The other day I ran into a dog and became really interested in knowing what breed it was. It could have been a mix...

It had the build of a lab, maybe... it had long hair. It had a gray coat that faded down into brown, and he had bright blue eyes. That's really all I can remember...

That's not enough of a description to go on. It sounds a bit like an Australian Shepherd to me.

The long hair confuses me but the coat color of gray and the blue eyes and lab build could be a Weinmeraner. Im not 100% sure on spelling but its close. My uncle used to breed and sell them. They are wonderful dogs. Used for hunting and excellent pets as well. Good with kids and protective

Maybe an Australian Shepherd and lab mix? I have seen one that looked just like a Aussie on a lab frame.

sounds like it was either a mixed breed or could have been a breed of bird dog like an English setter or an Irish setter.. the have long hair and are built body wise like the lab. Check it out for yourself.

Maybe an Aussie/Weimeraner cross. That would explain the build and the blue eyes as well as the coloring.Or it could have been some sort of husky mix. It's hard to tell without actually seeing the dog,but it sounds interesting.
