Just like any breed, each example has different levels to which they adhere to breed standard. Some people breed for lots of wrinkles, some breed for good conformation, some breed for good personalities, etc. Depending on which lines they come from they could have more or less wrinkles. Usually pups have more wrinkles than they end up having as an adult. Especially after they are done growing height wise and start to fill out, they fill up some of the "wrinkle" space. If I were you, I would look for a breeder who breeds for better health and conformation. Bulldogs have a laundry list of health issues, many of which are related to conformation issues and excess skin. Best of luck finding a new friend.

Most dogs do not develop wrinkles at a later age. Those cute little wrinkles are only during the puppy stage. In the past week I've seen a bulldog puppy w/ a tremendous of wrinkles and a 4 year old w/ none whatsoever.

Just genetic differences. The best get their wrinkles later and grow into them. The prewrinkled ones have more problems later in life. I've heard of a few that got the dog equivelent of a face lift because their skin flopped around so much.

Their wrinkles don't develop later in life, they actually decrease as the puppy gets older (they kind of grow into them). So, if you want a moderately wrinkly adult, you would need to get a pretty wrinkly puppy.
