My sis had this problem with her dog and an herbalist suggested acidophilous which balances the bad bacteria in the body. (1/2 the human dose for a medium-large size dog) You can buy it in any health food store or drug store.

She also gave her dog flax oil and cod liver oil which made sure that any fur she was licking up wouldn't turn to furballs. That also made the fur shiny and in much better shape. (dose was 2 tsp of flax and 1 tsp of cod liver oil per day)

Good luck

It sounds like your dog has allergies to something... it could be an ingredient in her diet (typically corn, wheat, soy, but it could be other things depending on each dog like a certain meat or eggs etc) or an environmental allergy.

Have a vet do an allergy test.

Has your dog been spayed ? It could be something to do with that, so if she hasn't been spayed, then maybe it is time to do so. Also, do you live in an area where they use salt on the roads? Dogs can get quite sick from this as they can pick it up on their paws etc.
