My puppy is three months old. She was doing well with potty training, but lately she will run in her crate and pee. I keep a close eye on her and take her out when needed to use the restroom, but when we come in and play not even for five minutes she will run into her crate and pee. I make sure she is completly finished when going outside and ready to come in. Why is she doing this? Especially if I take her outside when needed.

I do crate her at night and she will scratch at the door to let me know when she has to go. I also have bleached her crate so it does not have any urine smell.

CLOSE THE DOOR OF THE CRATE!!!

Dogs will not pee where they sleep. Get her used to the fact that is a bed, not a toilet, She will not pee there after she realizes that is her bed. Once she sleeps in there a few times, then open the door and let her explore.,

Good Luck =0)

Puppy's bladders are sensitive. When they get excited they have to pee again. So when you bring them in the house and start playing they get too excited they can hold it and have to go somewhere. Also, make sure that the crate is not too big. She should have just enough room to lay down and turn around. Any extra room will just be enough for her to pee in one corner and sleep in the other.

Puppies should be taken out: In the morning, every hour, after they wake up, after they finish eating, after they play, before bed, during the night. . . basically any time there is a change in their situation or status then you need to take them out.

two things come to mind: Do you have a blanket, towel, pads or anything in there that she can pee on? If so, take it out until she is fully potty trained.
The other is, when not using the crate, close it.

You might want to switch to a non toxic enzyme cleaner - the fumes from bleach aren't good for dogs. Nature's Miracle is good and will remove the urine smell.
Be sure to reward, reward, reward the dog for pottying outside. Is the crate too big for her? Can you block off part of it so that she doesn't pee in one part, and hang out in another?

Do you crate her at night? If not I would start so she learns that this is her den not a place to pee. Bleach her crate so she cannot smell it and I would crate train her and put her in there every night.

Email me if you have more questions on crate training.

She is marking her territory. Either there is another animal in the house, or a strange smell.
