received 12 month vaccination incl kennel cough last week also is chipped in that area if its relevant. Noticed yesterday large mass of hard tissue swollen ,definately not a tick, otherwise she is happy and her usual self, i have prodded and poked and it hasnt bothered her. Have rang the vet to ask if its a pssible delayed reaction to the vaccine but was told probably not this late and to just monitor for a few days. Have searched the net for hours on end with no results. Would be aprrox the size of a tennis ball. Appreciate any help in determining wot this could be. Thanks

I got a puppy last week and I took her to the vet 2 days ago. She got her vaccinations, was put on a dewormer, given Advantage flea preventer and took a heartworm medication. She woke up this morning with really bad breath and it's been persistent all day. Could the dewormer be causing this or something else?

My cockers are 2 yrs old. They still are not 100% housebroken. They dont go to the door, so its like a have to watch a clock. Its to the point that I have to feed them outside because I cant keep watching over them 100% of the day. Please help me. I had them since they were 3 months old and I kennel trained them. They seemed to be doing good about the housebroken thing, but things are getting worse. They rather go potty in the house than outside. Can I go back to putting them back in their kennel and start over?

I just bought my husband an AKC certified black lab puppy. I have the papers, I saw pictures of his entire litter and saw the parents. My question is. This is a black lab puppy, but it looks like a rottweiler puppy! It has brown feet and little brown spots on its eyes. It is completely adorable but I've never seen or heard of a lab colored like this. The breeder said its because a dog on the mothers side, her grandfather or something, had the same problem.

Is there such a breed as a "Red Nose Pit?"
Around here it seems to be the most desired dog, I dunno if it's a redneck thing or just a thing with the lower class in general *that may be stereotyping, but every stereotype has a base and people that truly live it, and around here the stereotypical are everywhere* I say lower class because this is a small town, and not in a quaint sense of the words. It's small because there's no work, those that make the good money either comute or are drugdealers, it's neither opinion nor stereotype. But everyone seems to either have or want a "red nose pit" and I can't for the life of me find any sort of breed standard online, which leads me to beleive it isn't a breed any more than a calico cat.
I haven't seen a full grown "red nose" in person, but a friend of mine had a puppy around 6months old and it was cute as a button, but I think that of most of the "pit bull" breeds, but then they grow up and things change.
Anyways, does anybody know?

We recently adopted a 4 month old male chi. He won't eat unless I feed him by hand. I don't want to get him started in the habit, but I know if chi's don't eat frequently their blood sugar can drop dangerously low (hypoglycemia) How can I get him to eat on his own?

My dog is a 2 year old Rat Terrier who was bought from a pet store. He has always been anxious around people, but now that I've moved to the Bronx I notice it even more. I can't walk down a street with people on it without him pulling until he can't breath. He has been through a training program and listens very well, but when people are around all of his training is lost. He can't over come his anxiety. He also has some OCD issues. I've thought of medicating him, but I'm not sure if that is the way to go. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before.

I have a 4 month old Chessapeake Bay Retriever- he's doing awsome with the potty training... however, every time we put him in our fenced in back yard- he digs... and digs and digs.... he's torn up most of my rose bushes, he's dug in my fiance's horse shoe pits... he's dug up our outside lights... How in the world do we keep him from digging? We've tried the spray "no dig" stuff they sell at PetsMart and it doesn't work... any suggestions?! Thanks!

I came home from working the 3rd shift around 7:20 this morning and a couple hours later I noticed he must have gotten into chocolate around 7 am between when the last person in the house left for work and I got home. they were cocoa truffles... I brought him into the Vet within about 3-4 hours and she thinks he will be fine.. They hooked him up to IV, gave him charcoal and said he vomited a lot up...he's staying at least overnight and she's optimistic I can take him home tomorrow at noon.. Hes a 56 lb beagle with no past health issues

He also vomited within an hour of eating it on his own about 6-7 times...The vet said that was good...

After showing the vet the bag she said it was a serious dose but not lethal (she estimated around 50/70 mg)

Should I be worrying as much as I am? Any expertise out there?
