I read a story about a Native American who was tortured by burning the soles of his feet till they blistered. He escaped and some wolves came up and started licking his feet. They kept coming back every night for several days and licked his feet. After a few days, his feet healed. Can a dog/wolf/cat licking you heal your body?

He has lots of chew toys but always wants to bite my hands and feet. Is there sometype of punishment that we can do to him to get him to stop being so agressive with his nipping? i think he is almost done with teething but is still nipping.

I have one, and had one in the past (best dog ever!) i want to know what people think of this breed...there are lots of misconceptions...do people really need to fear these dogs so much that they need to ban the breed?
And how many of you knew this little tidbit of information~
The American Canine Temperament Testing Association, which sponsors tests for temperament titles for dogs, reported that 95% of all APBTs (american pitbull terriers)that take the test pass, compared with a 77% passing rate for all breeds on average. The APBT's passing rate was the fourth highest of all the breeds tested.
I am just curious do we really need to eraticate an entire breed because people raise them wrong? Any dog could be raised to be mean...you take a child and nurture that child and help it grow you have a wonderful child, you could take that same child and raise it on the streets and what do you get?

If so, do you also call all children human spawn and advocate beating a dog into submission? GitEmGang does call children Human spawn and tells people to beat their dogs into submission. I have seen this many times on his posts. I ask you if this is the type person that should be allowed to breed or own dogs? I just wonder why you support him/her?

Recently, my dog ran out of Heartguard Plus monthly medication. We decided to buy from a different brand (1800petmeds) because the vet charges outrageous prices and they are always ripping us off.

When I was ordering on the phone, the person said that they would need to call the vet to confirm the dog, medication, ect.

We got a call today from one of the secretaries that they could not aprove the medication because my puppy was not tested for heartworms.

Usually this wouldn't be a big deal, and I would just get him tested, BUT, several months ago at a check up, the vet asked us if we wanted to do the test now or in the spring. We decided to do it in the spring. When I told the secratary that, she said she would ask the vet and then call back.

No call yet. Should I just order from a company that doesn't need confirmation or should I go to the vets and explain again?

I'd like some opinions, please. My little 8 pound dog, Tiara, needs a bath but it's hard on my knees (I'm 48) when I give her a bath in the bathtub. So I told my daughter, "Well, I'll just take her in the shower with me tomorrow morning and soap her up while I hold her." She called me a psychopath and asked if I was kidding. haha. I know, it sounds a bit odd but it would be so quick and convenient. What do you guys think?

I live in a smaller home with a medium size backyard. I am home most of the time and have a toddler just turned two. I am looking for a medium to large size dog (no giant breeds right now) and something that will be fine to play ball in yard with child and also fine snuggling on the couch. We go to the country once a week so the dog can run freely then. I would like something good with kids and to be a good watchdog being home alone a lot. This will be an only dog. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about getting a dog soon, and I want a puppy, but I'm leaning towards rescuing a dog from the shelter (those poor dogs need homes). I already have two cats. My adult cat is a princess and I don't think she'd appreciate a dog, but my younger cat would probably be indifferent and just want to play with it. Is it possible to get an adult dog that will get along with two cats who already rule the roost? I want a dog sooooooo bad.... I just love animals so much.
