I Understand What you mean about Putting him Down..Dont feel Guilty for saying that..There are worse things than death..I would rather know My Dogs were at Peace than Wonder Where they were and if they were being cared for properly. That is the purest form of Love for your Pet you can have!...You have much insight and are looking at the big picture. If You live Anywhere Near SC We have a Great Shelter and do great with dogs that suffer Seperation anxiety. We could Keep him for you until things got back on track for you..We do all Shots, Heartworm Preventive Monthly..Our Dogs have Big Out door Yards rather than Runs..If it takes you 2 months or two years we can hold this dog for you. You can find us at MAMASShelter@petfinder.org..Our Email Addy is their ..Send a Email and Mention Roxanne said We would Foster....If you are far away maybe the nice folks at Yahoo..Questions could all get toghther and give him rides as he comes thru their Town..In My Mind THIS is What Animal Shelters Should be for..People who get down and out..Not Losers who Breed and get tired of their Dogs..I will help all I can...Email me thru here if needed!!!!

Don't put him down!....Taking him to a shelter or humane society would be much better for the dog. At least that way he will have a chance at living a happy healthy life with a loving family. You could also call as many family and friends as you can and see if they would take him. You could also put an add in the newspaper and have family or friends watch him until you find a more permanent home for him. Don't have him put down though if he's not ill or aggressive. Good Luck!

Think about it. He has a better chance at the shelter than if you put him down, as putting him down leaves no option. Better still you might look for a shepard rescue society and ask their help. Or put an ad in the paper for someone who might want him. A well behaved trained dog doesn't need to be put down just because you can't keep him. Life is preciuos, find him a new home. You know you can and he deserves it.

One thing to do is to put ads up in tons of stores and put an ad in the newspaper that he is free to a good home. Also you could search around for a humane society that has space available. The best thing for him would be to go to someone you know so that they could either keep him just for a while, and if they kept him for good then you could visit him whenever you want and you'd be sure he was taken care of. If you're able to get him a home by putting up ads, you could always keep each others numbers when you find him a home so you can go back and check on him from time to time and so they can always call you if they can't keep him any more. Good luck.

You cannot put your dog down just because you can't take him with you!!! Shame on you for even thinking that! Take him to a humane shelter where they do not put dogs down. They WILL find a home for him.

Take him to the shelter before you put him to sleep. That's not right. He has a right to live as long as possible.

Please dont put him to sleep, put an ad in the paper and sneak him inside until you can find him a good home. I would try to find a friend to keep him temporarily and look for a new place where pets are allowed. Anything but killing him!!!

Try consulting a dog behaviorist, or if that is not an option try finding a no kill shelter in your area.

Call a rescue group. Please do not have him put down. Find a rescue that will take him in until they can find him a wonderful home. Sorry about your circumstances. Please don't punish the dog tho. Hope everything goes well for both of you.
