A year ago my husband saw a little beagle in our pasture, she was there for a month in the snow and ice, when he finally got her to come in she was skin and bones. I've had her obviously for a year now and have gotten her fattened up and healthy. In the last 2 weeks or so I've noticed one breast by her back legs is large and pretty much hanging down to the ground. There's no lump there, doesn't feel knotted and isn't causing any pain. I have an appointment with the vet next week--but what could it be. She looked like she'd had pups a while before we found her, but it's been a year. Mastitis, cancer, or is she older than I think and just has sagging breasts!!???

I just found one of our fox terriors remains on our 25 acre parsel in the Santa Cruz mountains. It appears to have been eaten by a larger animal an having spotting a mountain lion weeks earlier I must asume that my dog was eaten by this mountain lion.

Just a neat, but somewhat complex question.

For the last 2 months my 5 month old puppy favours his right front paw for a few days. I am wondering if he is suffering from growing pains or if this is something else.
It doesn't seem to bother him much. He still runs around like normal but when standing he doesn't put his full weight on it.

the lady i got my new dog from said he was crate trained. he would stay in his kennel at night when everyone was sleeping and when no one was home. well, i didn't go and get a crate, but i got a baby gate, and i have him sleeping in my kitchen. he has his food/water, a bed, and one toy. but anytime i put him in there like that, he freaks! he starts crying and whimpering, and trys to get out. if he was crate trained, he wouldnt be doing this???? right? when i let him out this morning and came back in my room, first thing he did was hop in bed and get under the covers! he acts like hes supposed to sleep in the bed with us!!! i dont mind him doing this, but hes not completely potty trained, so until then, hes staying in the kitchen. i dont know, what do you guys think?

He is 9weeks old and loves to bite. I have toys for him ,but he still loves to nip at everyones hands, even when you are just petting him. I do not play ruff with him. When he does start to bite i tell him no, take my hand away, and ignore him until he stops. Should I hit him(not hard just to get his attention) and tell him no? Will he grow out of this?

He also bites at my other dogs which doesnt bother them. When he does this i separtate them.

I live in the northern hemisphere, and when I flush the toilet, the water moves counter-clockwise. I've often wondered if dog's tails follow the law of physics and curl different directions depending upon what hemisphere they live in.
If you live in the northern hemisphere, does your dog's tail curl counter-clockwise also? Just wondering.
