Our property is bordered on two sides by woods, and I have actually dealt with this before. Tomato Juice works better than anything else I have found. Get the big cans from a salvage grocery store or something. And the cheapest brand you can find works as well as any. Apply it as you would apply 'dip' (to keep the ticks & fleas at bay). Drench an old sponge or rag and squeeze it out into their coat until it is saturated. Don't rinse it off right away either, let it sit at least 10 minutes. Good Luck!

umm color...? The age old theory tomato juice works pretty well- but you need ALOT of it. A lot of baths with a dog safe but scented soap would be ok as well. I have gotten sprayed a couple times and once the initial smell wore off, it wasn't too horrible (but then again, I work with skunks)

Tomato juice definately. I grew up on a farm and we had to use it quite a bit to remove skunk smells from the skunks coming out of the woods.

Four different home remedies
· Tomato juice (4-8 large cans and soak for 20 min.), then rinse off. Groomers warn that light furred dogs might turn pink.
· Vanilla extract (2 cups) combined with a gallon of h2o. Use shampoo after 15 minutes to rinse out.
· Feminine douche (2-4 ounces) and 1 gallon of water .Use shampoo to rinse out of the dog after 15 minutes.
· 1-quart hydrogen peroxicide (3% USP), 1/4 cup baking soda, teaspoon dish soap.

Go to your local pet store and pick up one of these products:
Skunk Odor Shampoo-this will require bathing your pet.
Natures Miracle Skunk Odor Remover-just a topical product, I do not believe a bath is required.
Skunk Off-topical product, no bath required.

Tomato juice, but you REALLY gotta soak her, and work it down to the skin. Then rinse & dry & do it again!
