Personally I would wait until your little Christmas bundle arrives so you can make friends and learn the puppy's personality. Give yourself a few days or weeks to find your what your puppy is like. Once you have learned your puppy's likes and dislikes it will be easier to name.

go to the site Dog Names in Different Languages. they have all sorts of names in different languages and thier meanings.
by the way what kind of puppy is it. and i am so happy for you. have a merry xmas from me and to your new friend.
Oh by the way watch your puppy the way it acts, the cute things it does, and its attitude. you dont have to get a name within the first few days. remember tis name is one that it will have for the rest of its life. so have some fun with finding it a name. good luck

Do you know what breed of dog you are getting? I am a believer that naming a dog according to breed is fun ( ie. I wouldn't want to name a Husky "Curly" , but would name a poodle that).
There are web sites that could provide you with suggestions if you want to go that route.

I named my Shih Tzu Gemini. I wanted something that wasn't common like Max or Fluffy. And my husband named his Beagle Snoopy because he loves the cartoon Snoopy. Use your imagination......you'll never know what will come to you!
