Well, my brother's toy fox terrier is on Prozac.
Not kidding.

Dogs certainly can have anxiety attacks. The most common form is known as "separation anxiety".

oh yes! pointers and poodles and some smaller dogs are much more prone to it...
My friend actually had a dog that would go through server anixety attacks everytime the went out, he also started to be a bit disrtructive too so they took him to the vet and put him on medication to calm him,,,, it was prozac... it turns out some vets really beleive in giving dogs anxiety and deppression pills so talk to your vet about it (=

I'm sure they can... I have a friend who's dog gets seperation anxiety and will destroy anything if he's left out of the cage when she leaves the house.

Yes most definatly, if this dose happen and the dog has issues breathing I suggest you take him to the vet they can have neds to controll the symptoms

Yes - sit in any vet's office for a few hours & observe. I don't know what breed whines more there - German Shepherds or Miniature Schnauzers!

I would say YES.
Some dogs are very nervous especially if they have been abused or are noise sensitive.
