I don't have a "dream dog".All dogs are only as good or smart or well behaved as the time YOU put into them.
I've had many dogs both registered purebreds and mutts. All have been easily housebroken and were well mannered in about every situation. My kids were far much harder to raise than the dogs were.
I've had dogs that'd fetch me a Pepsi from the fridge and dogs that helped with the laundry and one that could open the door to let himself out to potty.I've had many that would get the kids out of bed to get ready for school and one that actually drug them from the bed if they refused to get up.
The 2 I have now will pick up their toys and put them away and can understand exactly which toy to get when asked.
Every one of the dogs I've ever owned has loved me and shown me respect. They have never disappointed me or hurt my feelings. They are always there when I need a hug. They're never too tired or busy to talk to me when I need a friend. They never borrowed money or created problems too costly for me to deal with. They never stole and wrecked my car or threw parties in the house when I was'nt at home. They never destroyed or defaced anyones property to get me sued or cause me any other harm.So what if they occasionally pooped or puked on the carpet. It did'nt happen daily and carpets are easily cleaned.

The best dog I ever saw was a military working German Sheppard. He was on of the most friendliest dogs to people until his trainer gave him a "watch him" command. Then the dog knew it was time for work. He walked around camp alot without a leash this is very uncommon for military dogs

I have been lucky and already had my dream dog. A VERY well trained Australian Shepherd. So hopefully I do not try to clone her, that is wishing (training) my other Aussie will turn out just like her....
As dog owners when we get older there is always that one dog who always sticks out from the rest....

My dream dog would be my dog that was around when I grew up. Seeing her again would be a pleasure.
