I sincerely remember this story for 2 reasons, 1: I am from Washington State and it was a state wide story, and 2: I am an animal lover :) Last I heard the dog has recovered and is doing well (I did a little research since I haven't heard much lately about Comet). I found a website that listed that Comet is very much alive and is doing well. Here's the website: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7417688/

Comet's transplant happened in June. After a long, steady recovery, he appears to be showing signs that he's been cured. I have searched to find an update, but to no avail. I have also been searching for an update on Snowball, (Katrina). We all want happy endings to the stories on the news, but our lives go on and our pets lives? We really want them to go on preferable with us pet owner's, lover's..
