My 3 month old puppy ate just fine before we had her fixed 2 weeks ago. After we had her fixed I guess she thought she was going to starve (we couldn't give her food 12 hours before the surgery) and she wouldn't eat for about a day after surgery. Then, she just started eating her food so fast and wouldn't chew it and would vomit. So we had to feed her rice and boiled hamburger meat for about a week. Well, she is keeping her food down fine but she eats SO fast!! She never chews it. And also when there is food out she doesn't even know anything else exsist. She use to not do this!! Has anyone else had this problem and do you know how to fix it!! Help Please!!

my neighbor(well she lives a block away) used to have a dog that was abused before they got her and they knew that too. thats why she had been put of for adoption.... she was a golden retriever
she rarely barked, but when ever u used a firm tone with her she would kinda slouch or bend her legs and back up. same if you were taking her for a walk and stopped abruptly. but she was great with kids, i wold bring her to my house all the time cause i used to take her for walks everyday until they got rid of her.
but anyway, she was very protective at the same time
id lay on my lawn and she'd come lay across me and start licking me, and if anybody tried to come up to me she'd get up and block them from me. she didnt do that to ANYONE but me.
not even her owners and she never hurt a fly she was scared of alot of things. which is funny cause of the fact she was so protective over me..and i dont know why But i guess what im trying to say, is since this dog was abused and scared, why did she

I've had my dog a 3.5 year jack rusell/shitzu for three months since adopting him. As far as I know he grew up with two pitbulls, and a very disoriented family, hence him being put up for adoption.

Whenever we tell him no, ex. if he starts barking (which is rarely), or he does something bad or if he thinks he did something bad by the tone of our voice, we say his name firmly and he rolls onto his back and puts his legs in the air like he wants a tummy rub.

Is this unusual when you try to verablly descipline your dog for doing something bad? (Which is rare) But still, that's pretty passive for a dog.

So i recently rescued a little boxer pup. He is approx 8 weeks old. I was curious if anyone knew if it is too late to have his tail cut. I also have a 3 year old boxer and when i got her her tail was already cut as well as her dew claws but this puppy still has them. When is it to late to have them removed.

I have a 7 week old male husky pup who pees everywhere, never in the same place though. I have laid down newspapers with pee soaked paper towels in the kitchen and have boarded it off for him, but he refuses to pee on the papers. So I thought instead of placing him on the papers in the kitchen when he's about to have an accident, maybe it would be better to place him on the balcony. I'm hoping he will understand that outside is the proper place to do his business. Has anyone else tried this and have you had any success? Also will this make the transition from balcony to actual outdoors any easier?

We live on the third floor and are having a terrible time getting him downstairs in time, especially after he wakes up.

When I was in elementary school, my neighbors had a Bouvier. Sweetest dog in the world if you were in their house. Try walking past the yard though and you were in trouble.

That's the only time in my life I've ever seen that kind of dog and I've never heard it mentioned in dog circles....and that was 30 years ago! Is this breed still around? I'm not interested in getting one, I just wonder why it isn't common around here and if it thrives somewhere else. Anyone own one of these dogs? Do they all live in France? LOL...

The puppy will be a male miniatire dachshund. I have one already called Gordon. My favourite choices so far are Gunner or Decker. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I recently took in a Great Dane from a rescue centre.
His previous owner had trained him to kill cats because they kept attacking his pigeons.
he has killed most of the cats in my street....

I dont want to stop letting the dog out into the garden for his exercise because it would be cruel to keep a Great Dane indoors all the time.

where can i get some more cats from?

I have a 4 month old corgi who has been throwing up at night (only) on an off and on basis. He shows no lethargy nor lack of appetite (typical corgi, he is always hungry - he eats 2 meals a day). He has been allowed to go outside for the last 2 weeks and that's when he has started facing this vomitting problem (he DOES pick up crap from the street that sometimes we are too late to stop). His stool is not the hardest either (mostly on the softer side).
Any idea what is happening? If he is still energetic and wants to eat and play, should I still go to the vet?
Thanks

My 5 month old basset pup is "nipping" by that I mean that he will bite just a tiny bit of your skin in his front teeth. It hurts. He has drawn blood blisters on me and my 6 year old nephew. How do you stop this. My friend who is a huge animal lover says that it is part of the puppy phase and you have to just put up with it until he is about a year old. I don't buy that, as a matter of fact he's got about one more time to bite my nephew and I am going to have to look for a new home for him. Please don't tell me that I am being cruel if I give him up. I keep my nephew a good bit of the time and I will not subject him to a dog that is going to bite. If you have any serious suggestions please let me hear from you. I really love the dog, but the biting has got to stop.

I'm getting a pomeranian and a chihuahua soon. The breeder asked if I had color preferences. Just wanted other opinions on what color they like best. So tell me what you think.
