please do not use any tick powder. Because it some insecticides used in this powder are not good for ur dog's skin. Even if u go to vet, I'm sure he would also suggest u the same.

to get rid of ur dog's tick brush him regulary. use normal powder. and u may use anti tick shampoo 'Cisaflux'. It is the one of the best among the permitted tick free animal shampoos.

apply the shampoo on ur dog and keep it for 5-10mins. and rinse thoroughly.

and within 5 mins brush ur dog's coat gently. u will get rid of ur problem.

Even u can contact ur vet. he/she would definitely suggest u the best thing.

Tick Control
Eliminating Ticks In and Around Homes, On Pets
Before beginning your tick control program, know and understand the pest you are dealing with, especially indoor tick problems. Use this page as a site map to navigate through the different areas of tick elimination.

Indoor Ticks This is the most frustrating part of tick control and is so because most people do not understand the habits of immature ticks (who have a nasty habit of hiding in wall voids, out of reach of sprays, for long periods) a usually take short-cuts in their pest control efforts. If the correct products are not applied in the precise areas outlined, you will be fighting indoor tick problems for a long time.

Outdoor Ticks While indoor tick problems require some tedious work, outdoor tick problems require larger volumes of products applied to specific areas where ticks like to hang out.

Ticks on Dogs, Cats There are many products on the market that claim to keep your cat or dog free of ticks for incredibly long periods. We try to keep to the basics; in this manner we not only safe money but the health of the pet is kept foremost in mind. Even using the best pet products available, your best bet is to either keep your pets out of tick infested areas and to control the ticks on your property. That said, now look at some options you have for keeping fleas off or your dogs or cats.
Permethrin dips are a good tool for use on dogs but there is something about Permethrin that just does not get along with cats. Read the label; follow the instructions.
Frontline Spray and Frontline Topspot are both labeled for controlling fleas and ticks on dogs, cats, puppies, kittens. These products are not 100% bullet proof but they do give you an important extra tool to use while protecting your dogs and cats from fleas and ticks.
Preventic Tick Collars are popular with people whose dogs are allowed to roam areas where ticks are common. These areas include hunting preserves, public areas where dogs are allowed on leash and even areas you would not suspect: grooming parlors and veterinarian offices. This last two areas are constantly exposed to flea and tick infested animals for obvious reasons: people take their pets there because they are infested with fleas or ticks.
Pyrethrin Pet Spray This is a product that can be used on a daily or as needed basis. Also contains an IGR that inhibits the development of immature fleas on cats, dogs.

I wouldn't recommend powders. They are messy and don't work very well. Go to a veterinarian and ask about Revolution. It takes care of fleas, ticks and heartworm. It is easy to use. One tube applied to the neck/shoulder area once per month. Good luck!

powder? that would harm your dog more than the ticks. let your vet provide something safe and effective.
