Make sure you pick a short 2 syllable name that you will not feel foolish shouting out in public.

I have a Pug she is so cute and so full of life and fun! Her name is Tank, but I call her Pug more than I do Tank. She is Tank when she is in trouble and Pug the rest of the time. Go with what you call the dog most of the time dogs go by the tone of your voice anyway.

Well Hank Hill named his dog Ladybird, after Ladybird Johnson. Try that.

only u should name ur dog, all my dogs were named for their personality's or something that u know "just fits" them i.e.
Had a cat named d@mn-it (found him in a storm drain during a storm, took him home hubby said "d@mn-it ,Jo" hence the cats name)
Dog named speed-bump~always underfoot, had to slow down to keep from running over him.
Dog named Stinky~smelled so bad when we picked her up we had to shampoo the car...use your imagination...have fun...

Is it a male or female dog? what color is it?
I always name my pets upon their attitude and color. You know something that just comes to mind when you see them.

Here's a site with alphabetical lists of name suggestions.
I also used baby names.com as I tend to give alot of my dogs human names.
