my neighbor(well she lives a block away) used to have a dog that was abused before they got her and they knew that too. thats why she had been put of for adoption.... she was a golden retriever
she rarely barked, but when ever u used a firm tone with her she would kinda slouch or bend her legs and back up. same if you were taking her for a walk and stopped abruptly. but she was great with kids, i wold bring her to my house all the time cause i used to take her for walks everyday until they got rid of her.
but anyway, she was very protective at the same time
id lay on my lawn and she'd come lay across me and start licking me, and if anybody tried to come up to me she'd get up and block them from me. she didnt do that to ANYONE but me.
not even her owners and she never hurt a fly she was scared of alot of things. which is funny cause of the fact she was so protective over me..and i dont know why But i guess what im trying to say, is since this dog was abused and scared, why did she

She probably felt protected by you and had a strong attachment to you. She was merely protecting someone she loved. It's also likely that children were not part of the abuse and is why she did so well with them. She didn't see them as a threat. Shame you couldn't keep her yourself. A little work with a behavioral specailist may have help bring her around better with others.

Banning ANYTHING has established to create a profitable black marketplace within the object (or animal)... and to make plenty of shady characters plenty of illicit cash. You have handiest to appear on the US's Prohibition within the 1920's which went a protracted solution to growing the mob or the "War on Drugs" that have created a distinctive drug cartel in more than one nations to the south of the US. Ban special breeds within the US or ban breeding - and the rate is going up, puppies get much less medicine (for worry of a vet turning the landlord of the unlawful puppy/dogs in) and I'll guess dogs shall be integrated with drug shipments. I do not consider our cultures are so distinctive that the UK should not have the identical disorders.

You made her feel loved. Maybe she has never really felt that from anyone or been treated the way you treat her. I think you should buy her from your neighbor. If you can't just keep loving her! Make sure she knows that is not right to be over protective of you. You'll have to work with her.

She was not protecting you, she was owning you. In a way dominating you. You may have been one of the few people she could be comfortable enough around to own or Be your leader.
