I have a 4 month old corgi who has been throwing up at night (only) on an off and on basis. He shows no lethargy nor lack of appetite (typical corgi, he is always hungry - he eats 2 meals a day). He has been allowed to go outside for the last 2 weeks and that's when he has started facing this vomitting problem (he DOES pick up crap from the street that sometimes we are too late to stop). His stool is not the hardest either (mostly on the softer side).
Any idea what is happening? If he is still energetic and wants to eat and play, should I still go to the vet?
Thanks

I must add that he has had all of his shots and that's when he started going outside.

well, the way I walk him is that he is on my left side, always, never ahead (I use gentle leader). he has just enough leeway to sniff but he STILL gets some crap from here and there.
UPDATE - he didn't eat this morning :-( we gave him nutrical to tide him through and are gonna give him food in the afternoon (unusual for him).

It sounds like you are doing very well with this lil guy. Great food, cautious about going out prior to vaccines...but, maybe a short, 4 foot leash if that's not what your using. That way you have more control on how far ahead of you he is on your walks and then he can't get garbage in his mouth.
If his appetite is good, elimination habits are fine, no lethargy, good energy, etc., I wouldn't worry too much at this point. Sounds like he is upsetting his tummy with the garbage.

The yellow stuff you are seeing is bile (acid from the stomach) have you started using anything new like carpet fresh, flea powder, soap to wash the floors, or to wash his dishes?
My German shepherd did this a while, after numerous trips to the vet, blood work, x-rays etc, the vet tech asked me about the things I mentioned above and alas~carpet fresh~the dog gets it on his paws- licks it off-upsets his stomach-vomits, then repeats it...however this is just my experience with the vomit thing, a trip to the vet to rule out anything is the best bet..Good luck.

has he been dewormed? Before you take him to the vet try and get some of his vomit to take with you so the vet can see what he is vomiting. I know it sounds gross but it is important. Since he is not pooping solid and hard it could be the food you are feeding him isnt agreeing with him or the worms. Take him to the vet tho. Its better to be safe than sorry.

When my dog was a few month old, she would vomit occasionally. I asked the vet and etc. It's seems to be normal and some puppy do vomit. As long as they don't show signs of discomfort, or etc but if anything ask your vet to ease your mind.

Maybe theres somehting in the air at night that is making him uncomfortable. Try just taking him out during the day, then keeping him in during the night. It might take a little cleansing spray if it doesnt work, but it will be worth the risk if you find out that it is right.

Give your dog a product called Deter. This will keep him from eating his poop. He probably needs a multi-vitamine and thats why the dog sometimes eats the poop. He may be eating gress also, and you will just need to watch the dog.
Another thing you may want to give the dpog is charcoal bones from your local pet store. This absorbs the acid in the dogs stomich and it will keep him from getting sick so often.

go, it may have parvo, my puppy got it two weeks after she had the shot. Don't take chances go take the pup to the vet, the sooner it's treated the better it's chances.

Yes, bring it to the vet. My dog, a 5-year old dumb ***, vomitted on several occasions for various reasons: caught a cold, ate too fast, ate something wrong, etc.

he might have picked up parvo, which can kill him you need to go to the vet asap. any time there is excessive vomiting or loose stool he is dehydrating. GO TO THE VET!! PARVO KILLS PUPPIES!!!
