My dog is a teacup maltese, and she is REALLY scared of walking on our wooden floors. I mean she walks fine on our carpets. But she is so scared of walking on the wooden floors that she can't even go to her food and water! We thought she was scared because it was slippery, so we cut her nail as short as we can... but she was still scared. Since she can't walk on the wooden floors, she mostly stays on our couch, or lies down, and doesn't move. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY DOG? And what can I do to help her walk?? PLEASE answer with SERIOUS questions!

3 weeks ago i had my 8month old labrador pup neutered, and for the last week she has stayed with my mother whilst i was on holiday. After returning home and collecting my little pup, she has calmed down a lot and when see's other dogs almost crawls up to them. She always did that a little bit, but then would jump over other dogs like mad, now she just stays lowered to them and doesn't join in and play. I expected her to calm down after the operation but i'm worried that her behaviour change is exccessive. My mum told me that my brother in law was playin with her and she yelped quite loud at one point, but more over him taking her by suprise. Since then she acts the same way with him as she now does with other dogs.... maybe that has something to do with it, but what was, a week ago such a loved dog, now seem shy and lackin confidence, can anyone help????

Thanks for any advice in advance!!!

Drew.

My 1 and a half year old Golden Retreiver has just recently developed a black spot on his tongue about the size of a 5 pence piece, it sort of looks like a mole. Does anyone know of this happening before or if it's worth taking him to the vets to check it out?

Okay here is the situation. My Dog is usually with my ex 24/7, on the job site running around (he is a carpenter). She was spayed bout two weeks ago and there were some complications. So she had to stay home. The last couple days she was home she began to rip up our brand new carpet. She ate the under carpet I cleaned up what I could but she wont stop. Any Ideas on why she would do this. Is she mad at us, for leaving her home? Do not know what to make of it. I want her to stop! Please help.

My JRT has been sneezing, inverted sneezing, and his eyes are all irritated and runny---symptoms similar to a human suffering hay fever. He also has a slight skin condition,so my vet does nothing but subscripe prednesolone for him, which is no help to him whatsoever. I keep pointing out his nose and eye problems, but the vet says the prednesolone will help with that, and doesn't offer any alternative. Is there any other medication that will help him? Poor little guy is miserable.

He is a puppy though. Possibly a few months old. I've been trying the puppy pad method since I live in an apartment and I'm not supposed to have pets. I can't take him outside except at night. But he is ruining the carpet and still not using the pad. Everyone says we should've had him trained by now since we've had him a month. What can I do? Is a crate the only way? And if so, I'm home 99% of the time with him so when should I put him in there? And how can I persuade him to use the pad? Please help!

The dog has also been licking himself every time he urinates. He acts as though he won't continue walking until he does lick himself.
The other thing is he has been neutered, but yet he had enlarged testicular area with tenderness to area and would not move. Are these related or coincidences.

I'm just wondering about how long it will take to crate train my puppy. She's been doing very well the past couple of months and I'm wondering if I should give her somemore room to roam. How long should I keep her in the crate? When would be a good time to give her a little more freedom? Thanks :0)

My chihuahua has a habit of chiting on the floor without advising me that he needs to use the bathroom. He does this once and a while but when he does this he gets me mad. He knows he has to go outside, why does he think he can use the bathroom in the house? I do take him outside and he uses it outside but sometimes he just seem to not ask. Help please!

Recently, within the past two weeks, our dog has developed some strange habits. First, he suddenly wants to sleep on our pillows, in the space between the tops of our heads and the headboard. Previously, he was content to sleep on our feet or his doggie bed. He moves when we tell him to, but why now?

Also, he has started barking at things that are out of place, new, or things he apparently didn't notice before. He advances on the thing, barking at it, and then jumps back when he gets close, then he advances again. He's obviously exhibiting fear, and I'm hesitant to scold him because I'm concerned that it will make him even more timid.

Both of these behaviors are relatively new, as I said. Nothing has changed in his environment, routine, or food.

Is he just nuts?
