I like to supplement a little bit of cooked meat into my dogs diet, because he's on a holistic food that requires so little to be fed that he ends meals a little hungry. I don't want to spend so much on chicken breast, and a cheap alternative is gizzards. Can you feed a dog chicken gizzards, or do they contain bone shards that might be harmful?

My friend is considering adopting a miniature poodle that was rescued from a puppy mill. The rescue organization has all of its rescues on the BARF diet. Has anyone used the BARF diet? Is it worth all the time and money, or are there good premium dog foods one can purchase that have the same nutritional value?

I am just curious I know there are a lot of people who say they wont. Why not? Why would you?

I would, I mean I have and always will. I may not have paid 1200 bucks for my pup but let me tell you I still love her unconditionally. All the dogs I have known to own in my lifetime (including childhood) have come from shelters/humane societies. AND EVERY SINGLE DOG has been something special and a very loved member of the family. I am just wondering what people have against them? If you aren't going to show your dog then why does it matter?

My Boston has a spot between her ears, usually this fills in around 5 or 6 months, but hers didn't. Is this going to count against her for desirable markings when breeding her?

One of my puppies (boxer, female) was breathing funny like she was choking. So I told my daddy to take her to the vet. He toke her today while I was in school. When I got home he told me to go outside and check her because he had giving her some benadryl because he thought it would help her. And now her eyes are all swollen. The vet said she may have bronckitus, or pneamonia. But we haven't gotten any medicine or anything for her yet. What do you think it is, and what should we do.

I adopted a 5 year old Akita a month ago. He seemed a perfect dog- trained, well behaved, until last night he discovered an opened back yard gate and took off. We searched the neighbourhood for 2 hours with no result.
Local SPCA called middle of the night, the dog was found a couple of miles from our house, in the area we have never walked him.
Was he trying to find his old home?
Was he going to came back?
Can we train him not to run away or is it how it's going to be from now on?

P.S. he seems very guilty today when we picked him up.
