Was wondering if anyone feeds their dog Wellness brand dog food. I recently switched and I absolutly love it. I was wondering how others liked it for their dogs.

Look at the ingredients and compare them to the ingrediants of the food you are currently feeding your dog. I bet they are 10 times healthier!!

I always fed my dog Eukanuba, think it's the best brand. I never heard of Wellness.

wellness used to bake their food, which was awesome. it retained a lot of nutrients that are often killed in the cooking process.

however, they've recently switched.

think about this: broccoli is good for you, but raw broccoli is much better for you than cooked broccoli. this is because a lot of good stuff (scientifically known as 'probiotics') are killed when the food reaches a certain temperature.

Wellness is still better than most foods out there. The BY FAR best is Nature's Variety. Like wellness, they use all natural ingredients. What separates them from wellness is:

- All their ingredients are human grade. No 'not fit for human consumption' meats, like other pet foods (including wellness)

- Bio-Coating. Nature's Variety also makes raw food, which is 95% meat, 5% fruits & vegetables. no grains. (have you ever seen a dog eat cereal? dogs don't need grains) The raw food is the best thing to feed your dog, because it has all the probiotics and enzymes that are killed when you cook the food. In short, Bio-Coating is when they freeze-dry their raw food, and spray the freeze-dried food back onto the kibble. This means that everything good that was lost when they cooked the kibble is now back on the kibble.

No other dog food does this. Wellness used to always say "we're the best, because we bake our food." They don't do that anymore. Check out Nature's Variety's website, and see for yourself.

No need to switch, you're still feeding a much better diet than Pedigree, Dog Chow, Pro Plan, Iams, Nutro, Eukaneuba, etc. I'm just letting you know what else is out there, if you want to feed your pup the absolute best.

Wellness is a good food, and I feed it to my cats, but it was too rich for my dogs. I wish they had a large breed food, maybe it would agree with my dogs better.
Mine too have done exceedingly well on Eukanuba....although I do mix it with 1/4 Innova.

Wellness is an awesome food - when I showed my vet the ingredient label, she said yes, definitely feed this.

Hey.

If you really care about your dog, I would check out this site. It uncovered some things I had never realized before, and now I'm glad my lab will live far past the age of other dogs.
