Why do you have 2?

the natural dog had to survive by chasing/catching prey...running on all fours is so much faster and less tiring than covering the same ground on 2 legs..If you watch wild primates, they revert to running on four legs when they are in a hurry...
My dogs can run circles around me when we are out for a run...lol...I only wish I could cover so much ground in a day..!!

Well, actually, we all do. Human beings and primates learned to stand on their hind legs. Quadrupeds are amongst the most common limb 'designs', especially amongst mammals.
