My 8 month old cat began squinting this morning. He and his brother play rough, so I assumed it had gotten scratched in play. Since he is a very dark cat with dark eyes, it's hard to see much. I did notice that his eye is a bit watery, and perhaps a little bit of a white (pus?) discharge in a very small amount is leaking out of the inner corner of his eye.

The vet isn't open yet, so I thought I'd get some answers on here. How do I know if this is an eye infection or a scratch? What can I do to help heal it? Thanks ahead of time for your answers! =)

When my cat is being petted and he is purring in your lap he starts to drool. It is very gross and he also heaves but never throws anything up. He stretches his neck out and gets real close to the ground and he probably heaves about twice a day. I was wondering if it was maybe hairball issues because he does shed a lot. Can anyone help?

Does this just mean it's time to get him fixed (that's all I can think of is maybe he's horny? lol) He's so personable and usually follows me around the house and snuggles with me when I sit down, etc. But the meowing seems to be getting worse and I live in an apartment building so I don't want to disturb my neighbors, although they have a nasty yappy chihuahua lol so I think I'm fine in that respect. I don't want to be mean but I was thinking of spraying him with a water bottle when he meows like that. Happened to you?

Well I know male cats that are not neutered can spray in the house but can females do this also? I ask because my friend thinks they can but that doesn't sound right to me... Any information on this would be greatly appreciated :0)

Do his balls get cut off completely, or do they just cut a certain part of his bits?
Are there any websites detailing what happens, with pictures?

I love giving my five month old kitten kisses on his kitty lips. I'm not sure if this is safe (germ-wise), because I hear cats' saliva is rather strong. I was just wondering if any of you cat owners do the same thing, and if so, is it safe? Thanks in advance!

Why do cats smack their lips?
I mean for my cat it's so extreme that you can hear it from across the room!

I just recently made my outdoor cat an inside cat. He had been chewed on by a chocolate lab/retriever mix and had open wounds on the back of his neck. It was healing nicely, but he would constantly scratch and groom himself. I took him to the vet after finding a small ringworm on my forearm. That was almost two weeks ago and I have approximately 15 more spots on my legs and arms. He is on an oral medicine to cure the ringworm and pledgets to wipe on the areas. He hasn't been scratching or grooming near as much as he used too and he has brown, flaky, scabs where the ringworm was. Does this mean the ringworm is dead and he's almost over it? I've been using anti-fungal cream and have tried several home remedies and none have seemed to work. He goes to the vet in a week for a check up. I clean the house and disinfect it daily, bathe him twice a week, and wash and disinfect my hands after handling him and after cleaning his litter box. What do you think the both of us should do?

Thanks.

A friend of mine has a cat that freaks out and pees all over her stuff.

She's tried confinement, positive reinforcement, that "cat calm" aroma therapy thing you plug into the wall, cleaning up the smells with every "odor eater" known to man.

The problem isn't potty training. When he's calm, he uses the box just fine. He's not spraying either. When something scares him, he will run around pouring a urine trail behind him, screaming his fool head off.
There's no predicting his fear/triggers. Really, I've seen this cat go from dead asleep to a crazed peeing monster with no provocation.
He's so freaked out that he's knocked himself unconsious on more than one occasion, and it takes him hours to calm down.

The vet is stumped, made a food recommendation, but no other help.

For Christmas I want to get her a "care package"/basket of other things for her to try. So far, I have kitty diapers, "Urine Gone" cleaner.

What has worked for you?
Recommendations please.

I had my cat neutered last spring, when he was almost a year and a half. I wanted to do it the year before, but my husband thought it was cruel. So when he got an infection and I took him to the vet, I just had her do it while he was there (he had to stay overnight anyway). Anyway, the last week or so, he has suddenly started trying to have sex with my blanket. He bites it and goes through the motions. I know, that's just weird, especially considering there are a lot of female cats outside, where he spends most of his time (we only claim him, but feed about 5 others to keep them out of our trash). He shows no interest in the other cats, so why is he so interested in my blanket? I am 12 weeks pregnant with twins, could it be my hormones? There are no traces of human sex in the bed (sorry if tmi) because my husband is away right now and has been since the day we got pregnant, so I don't think that could have anything to do with it. Is this normal, or is my cat perverted?

OK, I ran over my cat pulling into the drive way this morning. I put it in the garbage can under some newpapers. I'm not sure what i shoulld do about my kids, though. They kinda liked the cat, and it was a black one, so i think might just get another one. Does this work?

I have a male cat who is about 4 or 5 years old he showed up on my door step a few years back. He does have leukemia but that has not been a problem yet. Yesterday he got lethargic and refused to eat I took him to the vet and she discovered he had a fever of 104 and a abscessed gland under his jaw on his neck so she drained it and gave him a shot of penicillin.

She also believes he has a blood parasite and she is treating him with antibiotics. This morning he is feeling better he is eating again and going outside for a short time.

His gland is still very swollen and now his jaw is swollen also the swelling seems to have stopped his eye is not swollen shut I am just wondering if this swelling is normal after it was drained and he was put on antibiotics?

My cat does some really weird things but these two I can't explaine...

First, she dips her paws in her water bowl and licks the water off and drinks that way. Sometimes she drinks normally but lots of times I find her like this.

Also, she has a few little toys (a tiny stuffed butterfly and a tiny stuffed dog) that she picks up in her mouth and purpously drops into her water bowl! I saw her do this only once but almost every day I come home and find her toys like this!!

WHY Does she do these things??????

I recently adopted an adult cat. I absolutely love everything about her, except for when I'm sleeping, she always jumps on my bed and attacks my feet, it doesn't matter if my feet are underneath the covers, or exposed. And it actually hurts alot! I love her sleeping on the bed with me, but I really don't like it when she attacks my feet though. She hates the spray bottle that I have for when she attacks my feet, but I dont want to use it too much and her not want to get on the bed with me, or be afraid I will squirt her every time she jumps up there. Is there any way that I can communicate with her to let her know that it is ok to get on the bed to SLEEP, but not ok to attack my feet?
