Our cat just recently passed away and my daughter is devestated. She wanted to know if i could get a picture of him and have a store make a stuffed animal that looks just like him. is that possible?

Sorry to hear about your cat. The only thing i can think of is to get your cat's picture woven into a throw or blanket. Then have a seamstress cut out the picture and make a pillow-type stuffed animal.

There used to be two places online but that was years ago and they're not around any more.

It would depend on what color he was (tabby stripes would have to be painted on fake fur) and how intricate the markings were. Fake fur comes in only a few colors. If he was a longhair, it would be double hard because not much is available in a good quality fake fur that long.

You can try asking at the cutting table of a JoAnn fabic store, they keep a book of business cards of local people who do sewing projects, there may be a stuffed toy maker in there. Or you can post on a crafts site for a stuffed toy artist, or look around online for people who have websites with stuffed toys they made and ask if they do special orders.

You can also look through etsy.com for someone who's put up some decent looking stuffed toys and send them an email asking about it.

You can take them somewhere and they can stuff the actual cat.
