Well I know male cats that are not neutered can spray in the house but can females do this also? I ask because my friend thinks they can but that doesn't sound right to me... Any information on this would be greatly appreciated :0)

For female unspayed cats in a natural setting, urine marking is a normal behavior used to attract a mate. In urine marking, the cat will sniff the target area, bend all legs slightly, and urinate a small amount on a vertical object. Some cats crouch to spray. Only 5% of female cats mark indoors but the problem is hard to treat.

I don't think a female cat actually sprays but they will mark their territory with urine. Its the instinct to attract male cats. If you use a citrus based cleaner, it should take the Oder away.

All 'spraying' is where an animal marks its territory by releasing a small amount of urine. Some cats do this when they are in heat - One of mine used to before she was spayed.

Yes! This is how she marks her territory/tells males she is in heat. Unfortunately, if your male or female cat is fixed after they go into season they can continue this habit even though they are fixed.

ABSOLUTELY, we had a spayed female that sprayed like a MALE, no bending of the legs or anything - back up to a wall, twitch her tail, and let it rip, it was disgusting. Fortunately she only did it outside.

I had one that did, she was so frustated at males not being around when she was in heat that she started marking territory to bring them. I got her in for spaying and it did stop.
