Because cats DO come in to heat a lot when the weather is warmer - every 2-3 weeks in fact for as long as it takes until they get pregnant! They're extremely virile animals - they can get pregnant when not in heat, and they can become pregnant again when already pregnant.

The answer is to have your cat spayed. Do it for her health - it will save her from pyometra, ovarian and cervical cancer and mammary cancer depending on how old she is, and it will also be good for the cat population in general. You owe it to her.

You need to get her spayed. Female cats will usually come in heat approx. every 21 days until bred. Having her spayed is the only way to stop the heat cycles and to prevent unwanted litters of kittens. By spaying her you also help her live a longer healthier life. She won't be trying to get out the door to find a mate and it will also prevent uterine infections and also decrease the chance of mamary tumors as well.

Please get her spayed soon.

Listen to Cynthia, she's dead on the money with her advise. Your cat will keep going in to heat until she's spayed or bred.

Spay your cat and you won't have to deal with it. It's better for her anyway. http://www.cat-urine.net/cat_in_heat.html
