I have a kitten, sodapop. he is also 6 months or so. he runs up and down like a maniac (and isn't on anything like catnip) it seems like he does this the most right after he eats. like it energizes him or something. he doesn't really come to me a lot (unless i just came from skool and he misses me), but I usually chase him myself. I pet him a lot but after a while he starts to bite and scratch. he also plays 2 roughly so sometimes I have to get gloves. 4 some reason, he gets scared whenever I get close to my mom and dad like he doesn't know them and they didn't do anything to him. (this just started happening) I'm scared to carry him to the vet because he hasn't gotten use to strangers. what if he runs away while the vet is trying to give him his shots? and he has some kind of sores on his head below the ears in these two light spots. it's red. he seems to bleed in little areas like in his ears. nothing too serious (i hope) it doesn't hurt him at all when I touch it. help me!

healthy. She used to weigh 8 to 9 pounds, but now she weighs 6 pounds. She ate dry food most her life, but now we give her canned food, as her teeth are getting bad. How much canned food do you give your cat and how much does he/she weigh. We dont want to under feed her or over feed her either--Thank you.

never mind recalls and stuff... if you could BAN 1 or 2 foods FOREVER (and not allow that company to make pet food ever again)
which 2 foods would it be and why? PLEASE keep it to 2 foods only or there will simply be too much info.. I know there are more than 2 bad ones only asking for 2 that you would pick... (maybe state your country too)

me - I am in CANADA...
the 2 brands I least like are SCIENCE DIET and IAMS.
I would ban both of them -
* Science Diet because its over priced crap and people (including vets) are so fooled by their clever marketing stratagy that they actually think its good and dont take the time to research it. - this food is LOWER in quality than many in grocery stores and wal marts.

*Iams because it went down in quality when bought out by Proctor and Gamble but mainly because of its link to that company it is linked forever to cruel animal testing (as is Eukanuba)...www.iamscruelty.com

so whats your 2 least liked foods?

My cat is fat, lethargic, and drinks a lot of water. I checked his urine with urine reagent strips, and glucose is negative. Does this mean that he doesn't have diabetes, of is it possible that he has it but it doesn't show in the urine? Zusje if you read this, please tell me, as I know you have learnt everything about diabetes recently.

I am almost out of the set of bags I have. I had ordered them online a year ago but since a cimputer crash I lost the link in my favorites. They are great because you can reuse the receptacles which cost a fortune. If anyone has a source, please share!!

If I try to push her out of the cat door she fights back. If I throw her out she comes right back in! But I want her to use the garden and not use a litter tray indoors

I just adopted a stray kitten from the wood mill in our town.
We're fairly certain it's female, and probably 6-9 weeks old. Her mother abandoned her after become pregnant again.
What do I do to care for her? She's been living off deep fried food, and cow's milk at the mill, which is a terrible diet I think, but comes from hanging around the canteen there. In the two days she's been here, she's been eating two meals a day, these meals are small dishes of raw chicken. She's also been drinking water, and lactose-free milk.
How do I care for her, as in food/sleeping/environment/play?
Also, how to go about training her (litter tray, and commands such as sit)?

My 6 month old kitten has suddenly developed pink cheeks where her whiskers are. She just a moggy, no particular breed. She is predominantely white. Is she just 'developing' new markings or something? Does anyone know what this might be a sign of?

I noticed tonight that my cat has blood in his urine, and is trying to pee a lot but not getting anything out. Worried, i looked online and it said it is a uti, but it worse in male cats seeing their urethra is smaller and can get blocked from this leading in a kidney failure. IM VERY WORRIED! =[. I've had my cat for 11 years. He's still happy and purring and stuff, but i know it hurts when he tries to pee because i was watching and he went in the litter box to try to go, and nothing came out except like a drop and when he got out he growled, not at me but it obviously hurts. And also he's cleaning it a lot. Seeing as it's 5 in the morning, can I wait until the morning to take him to the vet? I've been checking on him making sure he's ok but i don't want to wake up in the morning and find he's not ok....

So my Fiancée and I decided that the litter maid weren't cutting it anymore and we bought the Cat Genie. (www.catgenie.com). It seems a bit scary at first I would imagine, but none of the cats have ever had a problem changing litter boxes or litter. We slowly moved the litter boxes into the bathroom (where the Cat Genie is hooked up). But they won't defecate inside the Cat genie, only urinate. We also tried covering the entire unit with a black plastic bag and we found several poos. Now the bag is off and only one poo found so far. We still have the old standard litter boxes. I don't want to put stress on any of the cats by totally removing the boxes. I understand that litter boxes are really important to cats and need to be clean and in the right place at all times. I just really want them to use the Cat Genie! It’s a healthy alternative and I don't have to clean it (push a button, everything goes down the toilet).

Please suggest any suggestions!

My cat, Frankie girl, Is in heat. I am starting to think that she is a lesbian though, Which is fine, I will love her either way :) BUT... Is it normal for her to try to suduce my female dog? My female dog, Liberty, seems to nuzzle up to her 'girlie parts'. I feel like I am a sick person to not always break them up when this starts happening. Should I seperate them or is it harmless. Anyone else have this problem? Frankie girl is a 1 year old calico and Liberty is a 1 year old Yellow lab.

I think he is mean and heartless. he swears that their hind feet were putting tiny holes in their furniture. I was shocked that the Vet agreed to do this!

I found this cat on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4I7oFWCTPI
I played it while my cats were sitting around. it was hilarious the way they were looking at each other trying to figure who was doing it! One of my cats even started hissing and yowling too! Try it, it's hilarious!
