Hi there...I would select Iams for the same reasons you've noted--animal testing. The other, Purina products because they mislead the public with their over-glorified advertising. Their foods are very poor quality even their "Naturals" line.

IAMS because of their reputation for extreme and unnecessary cruelty with animals in animal experiments and testing.
I also want banned all cat foods that can be sold at a regular grocery store. Cats are strictly carnivorous and require a certain amount of meat proteins. Store-brand foods use the absolute minimum amount of meat proteins, making the foods mostly of grain proteins, which cats cannot digest. These foods have the nutritional value of fast food, breaking down the health and immune systems of cats.
Many cats cannot tolerate these foods and throw it up, causing cat owners to think that something is wrong with the cat and getting rid of it, when the problem is easily fixed by putting more meat proteins in the cat's diet.

I wouldn't say I dislike any particular foods as much as I dislike pet owners that fail to do their research and read labels..
If people didn't buy the crap, they would either improve it or go out of business.. If you were buying a car, the last people you would go to for information about reliability studies would be the car salesman.. Why? Well, duh, he's trying to sell a product.. I don't know why people just believe a pretty commercial and don't look it up themselves and use some common sense..
Obviously, there's no reason on earth for a carnivore to eat grains like corn and wheat.. Any person with a brain in their skull could reason that out with a bit of thought.. So many people though just project their needs onto their pets.. "Oh, I need lots of whole grains, whole grains are good = my dog needs whole grain, whole grains are good.."
Of course though, that's not the way the real world works..

Reason is because evey time I hear the name it is from people that are simply dripping with scorn and hate for other people. It makes me sick because that is the first thing I think of when I hear either of these names. They have become very negative to me.
