I can barely get his mouth to open. Im afraid bacteria might grow in his mouth and effect his life span.

Any recomended toothbrush or toothpaste?

ok i got a cat at the animal shelter in August...well she was born there at the animal shelter and she had never really been out of those cages they have there b4 so when we brought her home she discovered the bathroom...now she is obsessed...everytime we go into the bathroom she runs in there and follows us! she watches us take a bath/shower...when we brush our teeth or wash our face she watches and she even watches the toilet flush! she sometimes gets in the shower or bath tub with us! she loves the water and we cant figure out why...she even lays in the sink and if u turn the water on she just lays there in it and we'll turn the water on to see if she wants to drink and she'll stick her head under the faucet and drink it! but she lets the water go all over her head! has anyone else had a problem like this?

We have a big (really big), beautiful silver tabby. He is perfect except for one thing. He has really bad acne under his chin. The eruptions almost always get infected and sometimes they even abscess. He is pretty good about keeping them open and clean so that the infection can drain and heal. Yesterday he opened a relatively new one by scratching, and unfortunately he got it pretty deep. It swelled up right away and made him sick; he was gagging and trying to throw up. I hot-pack his chin twice a day. He doesn't like it, but it really does help the eruptions come to a head and drain sooner. Can I do anything else? Our vet said that unless he has a staph infection, antibiotics are not appropriate as this is a chronic problem.

You know how there's that cliche scene of the firefighter getting the cat out of the tree? Well what happens when feral cats climb trees? Do they jump down? What about different kinds of wild cats? Can they climb down trees?

I am a widow without much money coming in each month, being disabled. i found a lil kitten that someone threw out too young in my neighborhood. she just came to me & it broke my heart that she was alone like me. i had no idea how much spaying would cost, at the moment she needed a warm place to stay & she slept with me. now she has gone into heat which means she is driving me nuts with the howling. i love her too much to surrender her...vets want 200.00 some want more. she was sick when i found her, at deaths door & the vet charged me 138.00. i had to go without that month. are there programs out there that help the poor pet owners?

Yesterday my 7 week old kitten had it's first veterinarian appointment. The doctor dusted his fur over a wet paper towel and flea droppings fell out and he was diagnosed with having fleas. There weren't many droppings, only about 5 or so, but Rex was given Advantage flea treatments which I gave him as soon as we got home.

I asked the vet if there were products to treat the house, (growth treatments, insecticides, etc.) and he said yes but because I have only had Rex in my apartment for one week exactly, he said not to worry about going through all that, that all i needed to do was a thorough clean and vacuum.

Being my paranoid self, i went out anyway and got Zodiac flea spray for upholstery and furnature and went crazy spraying everything Rex has every touched or sat on and spent the entire night vacuuming and dusting.

I brushed rex this morning and found no traces of flea droppings, do you think the flea thing is done? or will they come back? should i have done all that?
