He could be growing, just plain hungry, or looking for attention.

I let my cat graze all day on dry cat food and only give wet food once and while as a treat.

The Eukanuba Natural does have some wholesome chicken in it and it does contain soybean which is contraindicated for cats (do you really want to know about phyto-estrogens, trypsin inhibitors etc. - if you do email me). Along with the Purina 2/3 of the food is filler and for a cat the protein ratio should be 60% high quality meat protein and only 30% filler and more wholesome ones than corn gluten meal or brewer's rice. Some better foods in the dry are Eagle Pack, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, Chicken Soup, Felidae, CA Natural etc. All these have high quality meat protein as the first two ingredients and the fillers are brown rice, millet, oat or pea. With a higher meat protein content in their food they will be better nourished and after a time making up for deficiencies from the other foods will actually eat less of the new food.

Try giving your cat something else to do like a window perch or a bunch of interactive cat toys a real tree branch to scratch or even a cardboard box with holes cut out of it. It is possible that he has a disorder but it is also common for cats to be bored out of their minds especially if they are indoor cats and the family is out most of the day.

You should set up a food schedule for him and stick to it. This is a good way for your cat to become obese.

I agree with the worming suggestion. If it is not worms, just put dry food out in the morning and maybe a bit in the evening and don't cave! He will get use to the feeding schedule soon enough.

Please, please, please have your baby checked at the vet! When my middle-aged female starting pigging out last summer, I thought she was just being greedy. Then she lost weight and I thought it was worms, so I de-wormed her. Then she almost died one night and I rushed her to a night-vet. It was a narrow escape. Turns out that she'd been diabetic for a while and went into keto-acidosis. Simply put, her body was eating itself and she was starving to death despite eating like a pig all day. She is doing well now with proper treatment. But it was a hard lesson learned.
Feline diabetes is very common and over-eating is one of the earliest signs.
Of course, your boy may simply be greedy. I truly hope that's the case, but better safe than heartbroken.
Good luck.

Mine does that too. I leave dry food out, but as soon as it is gone he starts. Morning and night he asks for food, even if there is some in his dish. I think it's just for attention, or he is trying to get me to give him wet food (which he only gets once in a while). But now that he is over 3 he is getting fat, fat, fat. So we try to not feed him so much. Good luck.

Maybe "he" is a "she"----and pregnant
or maybe
it's a side effect of whatever medication he/she's on
or maybe
she/he has a tape worm
or maybe
the cat is just greedy........how do you think some cat's get fat?
or maybe you just need to change brands of cat food......some cat's don't respond well to certain brands.

because your cat knows that you will give himwhat he likes even its not yet lunch, dinner brekfast.i suggest you should control your cat. your pet should know whos the boss. but youre showing him that his the boss. buy a cage and feed him only three times or twice a day. don't be affected if the cat do his "begging act" . its for his best

check his worming programme,is he due to be wormed?
If he is always hungry but not putting any weight on this could be the cause. If not, you've just got a greedy cat lol
