Siamese are very vocal...sometimes obnoxious. They can't retract their claws so they "tap" on the floor. They are assertive and want you to know that they are in charge and you are their assistant. But they are great cats and most of them have wonderful personalities. Best of luck. :)

You should expect to have a lovely cat! I had a siamese/tiger mix. Beautiful cat, unfortunately had to have her put down at 13 years of age. I think if they are mixed, they are great!

Wanted to add that my mix siamese was not that vocal.

I have 2 siamese, they are not as aloof as other cats and are best described as lap cats. They are very inquisitive and smart, and are always getting into something. They are very vocal (one of the most vocal breeds) and have no problem letting me know when they want something. Mine are really closer to dogs than cats. They are 6 and 7 years old and still quite playful.
They are just lovely, but a pain in the butt sometimes.

It's true that siamese are talkers.
They are also extremely devoted to their "people" They tend to really bond with you. They are generally very smart. I've had siamese that understood english just fine. I had one cat that I would say goodbye to when I went out and tell her when I would get back. One time I forgot to say good bye to her and my roomate said she cried the whole time and she never did that before.
Siamese are great. I love the breed.

A frisky, get into everything bundle of PURE ENTERTAINMENT AND JOY!! They will "talk" your ears off, and can jump straight up onto things, so put your "breakables" WAY out of reach! They have very good balance, and unlike what someone else said, their claws DO retract. I've had Siamese cats for 15 years, so I've had a little experience with the breed. Good luck, have fun, and ENJOY!!!

Siamese: Smart, active, doesn't like to be alone, "high-maintenance."

Expect a lot of noise and Cattitude! They are talkers to the max, but you will love your new kitty!
